- I sat at a coffee shop with my friend and heard her say the most peculiar thing, don't go to that school. They are in an intellectual bubble. I looked at her in wonder, she elaborated that most of the professors were also students at the school. Once they graduated, they became teachers. As a result, there was not a lot of diversity in thought at that school. This was one of those light bulb moments of how important it is to be mindful of and value educational diversity. An educationally diverse team is made up of people who have different levels of education, attended different schools, enrolled in different programs or come from a non-traditional educational background. In this lesson, I want to share how educational diversity can add value and how teams can be stifled by being too educationally similar.
