Respond to stress without reacting emotionally
From the course: Adaptability and Resilience for Production Workers
Respond to stress without reacting emotionally
Reacting emotionally won't solve any problems. In fact, it may just make things worse. When things go wrong on the floor, when the line backs up, someone misses a hand-off or machines are down, it's easy to snap. But reacting emotionally doesn't solve the problem. The key is to respond instead of react. First, take a second before you speak. One breath can make the difference between a calm question and a loud complaint. Second, stick to the facts. Hey, this palette is missing labels. We need to hold it, is way more useful than, seriously this again? People respond better when you focus on solutions. And third. Watch your tone and body language. You don't have to pretend everything's fine, but stay calm. The team feeds off your energy. Things might get tense, but if you stay grounded, you can help your whole team.
