- [Instructor] One important thing to understand right from the beginning is that Acrobat is used to add form fields to existing forms. You won't actually be creating forms from scratch in Acrobat. Notice there's no new command here in the file menu. We only have open options, and even under the create menu, most of the options here are for creating PDFs from existing content. There's the option here to create form, which if you click it, and then choose, say, create new, this will basically give you a completely blank canvas, but in my opinion, this is a really clunky, and inefficient way to create a form because Acrobat really isn't a layout tool. So instead, your forms should be designed in word processing spreadsheet or page layout programs like Microsoft Word, Excel or Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, and so on.
