What you should know before watching this course
- So what does a person need to know to take this course? Well, there are no prerequisites for this course. This is a general introduction to accounting, so you don't need any specialized knowledge. In this course, my brother and I will help you understand where and when numbers can provide an important input into decisions. Our objective with this course is to take the edge off the numbers of business and to expose you to accounting terms and concepts that you will often run into in business. Don't worry, you're going to learn things that you may have never heard about or have heard about, but never understood. But at the end of this course, you'll be better prepared to be part of the decision making team. For some, numbers can be scary. Well, from a lifetime of swimming in numbers, I have learned that numbers are not to be feared. Instead, numbers are to be appreciated. So there are no prerequisites for this course, but once you've completed this course, you may find that you'd like to try your hand at other numbers courses, and we do have plenty of those. But for now, let's just sit back, relax, and learn about the power of numbers in business. As a quick disclaimer, the advice provided in this course is general advice only. It has been prepared without considering your objectives, your financial situation, and your risk tolerance. The course is not intended to give investment advice, but instead to communicate basic information to help viewers understand the basics of the topic presented. For investment advice, you should seek advice from your own trusted, independent financial advisor.
