The importance of accounting

Can you think of a more exciting topic to discover? - If you knew what we knew about accounting, you'd be quite excited about what awaits. - [Kay] We are going to examine the four basic types of accounting. Bookkeeping, financial accounting, managerial accounting, and income tax accounting. - [Jim] Now imagine understanding financial statements and how they're used in making business decisions. - We'll also illustrate some real world applications of the important managerial accounting concept, you get what you measure.
