O-Cloud platform in RAN

O-Cloud platform in RAN

What if we could crack open a baseband unit and set its power free? That's what open RAM cloudification does, where the hardware and software get separated. It turns the rigid boxes into a living, flexible network. In the old traditional RAM, we know there is a one-vendor baseband box which is a closed and locked ecosystem where the hardware and software are coupled together. If we need more capacity, we need to buy another expensive box. On the other side, if we go towards the open RAN with cloud ecosystem, we would have commercial off the shelf servers, which we can buy off the shelf depending upon the needs and requirements. We have open source operating systems such as Linux or Ubuntu. On the top of that, We have virtualization layers, which adds more efficiency by scaling up and scaling down the capacity on the go. Looking at the traditional RAN, there's a baseband unit where we have the software and hardware provided by the same vendor. If we need to add capacity, we need to add…
