RRC related timer T310
(bright music) - [Instructor] Now let's talk about what happens when there is a problem at a radio interface in the network and UE is in RRC connected mode. In this situation where UE is unable to decode control channels, for example, the physical downing control channel, a timer starts running and this timer is known as T310. The activation of T310 indicates that the UE has gone into an out of sync state. Within the UE here are two primary layers relevant to this process. One is the lower layer, which is the physical layer, and second is upper layer, which is a Mac layer medium access control layer. When an out of sync situation is detected for a prolonged duration, the UE will then get into the idle mode or inactive mode.
