(bright music) - [Instructor] Let's look into the RRC related timers, which is impacting the RRC connection setup, reestablishment and failure handling. We'll talk about the timer T300 and T301 in detail. We'll start with the T300, which in 5G NR starts when UE sends an RRC set up request to the gNB. And if there is no response received before this timer expires, the attempt is considered as failed. What happens next? Next comes the UE checks. How many RRC setup requests it has sent so far? So we'll look into the number of retransmissions in this case, which is N300. Each time the T300 expires, the UE considers whether to retry. And if the number of attempts is less than N300, it retries the RRC setup request. But if attempts exceed this value of N300, the UE aborts the attempt and returns to RRC inactive or RRC idle mode, and this is treated as access failure.
