For example, here we have customer data with missing city and state values, but if you look closely, other rows with the same zip code already show the correct location. Excel's Flash Fill cannot connect patterns across rows like this, and manually filling hundreds of records would take hours. Not a problem, just open ChatGPT and type can you fill the missing city and state values in this dataset by matching the data with complete rows. Then upload the Excel file or paste the data table directly into the chat and press enter. ChatGPT instantly analyzed the entire dataset and used completed rows in the table to identify matching patterns, then filled in every missing city and state value. And in cases where an exact match doesn't exist, ChatGPT can also use broader geographical knowledge to fill in missing data. Now all we have to do is download the new Excel file ChatGPT created for us, and we officially have a brand new, analysis-ready dataset with no missing values.
