Systems Administrator IV

Location: Remote (DC Metro Preferred)

Clearance Requirement: Public Trust Eligibility Required

Job Type: Contract

Schedule: Standard Business Hours + On-Call Rotation as Needed


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator IV to support a large-scale enterprise environment focused on Active Directory, DNS, authentication services, and certificate management. This position will play a key role in maintaining and improving critical Windows infrastructure environments while supporting secure enterprise operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience administering Windows Server environments, troubleshooting enterprise authentication systems, managing certificate authorities, and supporting complex infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should also be comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams while handling escalations, system improvements, and infrastructure support efforts.


Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments

• Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy

• Manage certificate authorities, SSL certificates, and certificate lifecycle processes

• Support authentication services including ADFS, SAML, SSO, and Okta

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and monitoring

• Apply security best practices, patching, and system hardening efforts

• Support Tier II / Tier III infrastructure troubleshooting and issue resolution

• Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvements and integrations

• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

• Participate in on-call support rotation as needed


Requirements

• 8+ years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering experience

• Strong experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Windows Server administration

• Experience supporting authentication services such as ADFS, Okta, or SSO platforms

• Experience managing certificate authorities and enterprise certificate environments

• Hands-on PowerShell scripting experience

• Strong troubleshooting experience across Windows enterprise environments

• Experience supporting networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP and DNS

• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in fast-paced environments


Nice to Have

• Experience with Entra ID / Azure AD or AWS cloud environments

• Security+ or Microsoft certifications

• Government contracting experience

• Experience with server patching, backups, and permission management

• Familiarity with DevOps or infrastructure automation practices
