We’re seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer, Workstations & Servers who lives and breathes computer hardware and is ready to accelerate our growth.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers during the pre-sales process with product, configuration, and technical inquiries via email, chat, and phone, providing clear guidance and a seamless buying experience.
- Navigate business, education, and government purchasing processes, including purchase orders, vendor onboarding, and regulatory deliverables.
- Represent STEIGER DYNAMICS at select trade shows, industry events, and partner showcases through product demonstrations, customer conversations, and follow-up activity.
- Work closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to confirm that customer requirements can be fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Create, manage, and optimize product listings on marketplaces such as Amazon, Newegg, and eBay, ensuring accurate specs, pricing, and positioning. Respond to marketplace customer questions and listing-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor sales, marketplace, and listing performance and create reports with actionable recommendations to improve conversion, content quality, and channel performance.
- Review incoming orders for accuracy, technical feasibility, compatibility, and fulfillment readiness, and process approved orders accordingly.
- Support lead generation efforts by identifying and qualifying new prospects through inbound inquiries, trade shows, partner channels, marketplace activity, referrals, and proactive outreach, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate opportunity tracking.
- Gather customer, competitor, and channel feedback and share actionable insights with Product Management to help improve product packaging, positioning, and future offerings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or, equivalent hands-on experience in PC hardware, system integration, or technical pre-sales.
- 3+ years of sales or product management experience in the system integration or component retail industry and a track record of driving strong commercial results.
- PC Hardware Enthusiast: You’ve built countless PCs and are the go-to expert for friends, family, and colleagues. You are knowledgeable about strengths and restrictions of current motherboard chipsets, GPUs and CPUs, depending on the use cases.
- Customer-Focused: You thrive on helping customers find the perfect solution and maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional approach.
- Market-Savvy: You keep up with industry trends on sites and channels like Tom’s Hardware, TechPowerUp, Gamers Nexus or ServeTheHome. You know what customers want and what competitors are offering.
- Strong Communicator: You have excellent communication skills and the ability to make complex technical details accessible to all.
- Proactive and Organized: You take initiative, solve problems, and manage your time effectively.
- Attention to Detail: You catch inconsistencies before they become problems and take pride in getting configurations, quotes, listings, and order details right the first time.
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Redwood City, California headquarters, in the heart of Silicon Valley.
