Tech Lead — Agentic AI (Diagnostics & Pricing Analytics)

Location: Remote (US time zones)

Engagement: Contract or Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: High compensation; equity opportunity on conversion to full-time

About the Role

We're hiring a Tech Lead to anchor two AI-enabled workstreams: an agentic diagnostic system and a tabular pricing analytics platform. Both connect to a central enterprise data layer and are built to run as production systems, not POCs. This is the foundational hire on the team — the rest of the engineering org won't be built out until the right Tech Lead is in place.

You'll own architecture across both workstreams: agentic patterns, tool and skill orchestration, multi-step LLM workflows, and integration with enterprise data platforms. You'll set the bar for what gets shipped, articulate trade-offs to senior non-technical stakeholders, and bring an enterprise-grade security mindset to systems that have to be deployable and durable.

This is frontier work, but it's real — not research, not a toy. The systems built here are expected to be reused and extended across other strategic AI initiatives. The Tech Lead will have direct visibility to senior leadership conversations and meaningful influence over the broader AI roadmap.

What You'll Do

  • Lead architecture across two AI-enabled workstreams: agentic diagnostics and pricing analytics.
  • Build production-grade agentic systems — agents, tools/skills, orchestration, multi-step workflows — not prototypes.
  • Integrate LLM-based systems with enterprise data platforms and data layers.
  • Own architectural trade-offs and communicate them clearly to senior, non-technical stakeholders.
  • Set the technical bar for security, deployability, and robustness.
  • Operate as the senior engineering voice in the room and the credibility anchor for frontier-but-deployable work.

What You Bring

  • Deep, hands-on experience building agentic AI systems end to end — production systems, deployed products, or referenceable demos. Not LLM-API tutorials. Not hobby projects.
  • Fluent in agentic architectures: agents, tools and skills, orchestration, and multi-step workflows.
  • Production experience with LLM-based systems and AI-enabled analytics (diagnostics, pricing, or similar).
  • Integration experience with enterprise data platforms and data layers.
  • Enterprise-grade security mindset — not prototype-level thinking.
  • Senior or principal engineer / architect background with applied AI as the primary focus.
  • Leadership profile: leads with solutions, takes initiative, owns trade-offs, doesn't need handholding.
  • Consulting-friendly: comfortable engaging senior, non-technical stakeholders without friction; can hold the line on architecture under shifting constraints and ambiguous asks.
  • Resilient under scrutiny: can credibly speak to frontier work as production-quality, not as research.

Location & Engagement

  • Remote in any US time zone. Must be able to work US hours; primary stakeholder is on Pacific time.
  • Contract or contract-to-hire. The contract-to-hire path is a genuine selling point — a real path into a full-time role on frontier AI work.

  • Seniority level

    Mid-Senior level
  • Employment type

    Contract
  • Job function

    Information Technology, Management, and Design
  • Industries

IT Services and IT Consulting, Software Development, and IT System Custom Software Development
