Vernovis is looking for a SQL Developer who will support our client in a hands-on role supporting critical back-office and accounting functions. You’ll work closely with a collaborative technology team and business stakeholders to build, maintain, and improve data solutions that drive day-to-day operations across the organization.

Successful candidates will gain exposure to real-world accounting data (AR, AP, GL) while developing your technical skills in SQL Server and T-SQL, contributing to reporting, troubleshooting data issues, and helping modernize legacy systems. You’ll be part of a team that values practical problem-solving, continuous learning, and delivering accurate, reliable data to support business decisions.

What You'll Do:
  • Create intermediate and complex T-SQL queries, views, and/or stored procedures.
  • Create and manage database tables to ensure query efficiency, easy to follow organization, and data accuracy.
  • Support software developers with database needs, which may include query optimization, questions about data sources, proper use and interpretation of data, and more.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to translate business requests into actionable tasks, set timelines for software releases, and drive use of best practices
  • Dissect legacy processes and programs to identify potential improvements, spot bugs, and create future proof solutions.
  • Ensure project completion with accuracy and an appropriate level of timeliness. 
  • Design, craft, and release reports for consumption by the project’s stakeholders. 
What You'll Have:
  • 1 -2 years prior experience in data analysis or software development
  • Preferably experienced with Back Office / Accounting functions within these fields
  • Moderate to expert level proficiency with SQL, preferably Microsoft SQL Server & T-SQL.  
  • Associates degree or greater in computer science or analytics. Will consider shorter, intensive coursework on a case-by-case basis.
  • Ability and desire to utilize and create technology solutions to develop actionable insights and solutions for the business. 
  • Ability to organize work and respond to changing priorities effectively.  
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and complete challenging tasks. 
  • Analytical ability to gather and interpret project requirements and proceed to utilize those requirements to develop and deliver solutions for the business.  
  • Customer service mindset
  • Possess an innate desire for growth, personally, technically, and professionally. 
  • Desire to gain the requisite domain knowledge necessary for successful project completion. 
  • Strong attention to detail.  
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, in-person and remote (phone).
