Compensation: Up to $300,000 base salary + annual performance bonus + meaningful equity participation

About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization preparing for a future public market event is seeking a strategic and hands-on Vice President, Corporate Controller – SEC Reporting & Pre-IPO Readiness to join its executive finance leadership team in the greater Nashville market.

This is a rare opportunity to lead the transformation of the accounting and financial reporting function ahead of a potential IPO while partnering directly with executive leadership, investors, auditors, and board stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all external financial reporting activities, including:
• SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
• Technical accounting research and implementation
• SOX readiness and internal controls
• IPO and public-company preparedness initiatives
• Partner with the CFO and executive leadership team on strategic finance initiatives
• Build and mentor a high-performing accounting and reporting organization
• Oversee audit coordination with external auditors and advisors
• Drive operational excellence, process automation, and reporting scalability
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting standards
• Support board presentations, lender reporting, and investor communications

Qualifications

• CPA required
• 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
• Strong SEC reporting and technical accounting background
• Experience with IPO readiness, public company environments, or PE-backed growth organizations strongly preferred
• Big 4 public accounting foundation highly desirable
• Proven leadership in building scalable accounting infrastructure
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
