Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Care, the Regional Sales Manager is a senior sales leader responsible for overall sales performance within an assigned region. This role owns regional revenue growth through new business development, expansion of existing accounts, and disciplined execution of strategic sales plans.


The Regional Sales Manager leads and manages multiple teams of outside sales representatives while also hiring and developing internal W‑2 sales talent within the region. This individual sets clear expectations, establishes performance standards, coaches, and drives accountability across all sales resources to ensure consistent execution and sustained growth.


The Regional Sales Manager partners closely with the National Account Manager, Commercial Sales Manager, and Distribution Sales Manager to define and execute regional growth strategies, including initiatives related to product development, promotions, pricing, and channel strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable sales growth and market share expansion throughout the territory
  • Lead, manage, and motivate internal and external sales teams to achieve and exceed regional revenue targets.
  • Expand regional revenue by winning new customers and increasing share of wallet across existing accounts through disciplined sales representative management and by fully immersing in the territory to identify obstacles and opportunities.
  • Lead the rapid and effective onboarding of new field sales representatives, ensuring quick alignment to training, sales expectations, systems, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with channel sales leaders (large projects, distributors, and national accounts) to align strategy and ensure execution against regional sales goals.
  • Translate corporate and regional sales strategy into actionable, tactical sales plans and ensure consistent execution through data and field reporting.
  • Establish regional sales objectives, forecasts, and annual quotas, projecting expected sales volume and mix.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage internal and external sales talent, driving accountability through consistent coaching, performance management, and decisive action on underperformance.
  • Partner with sales representatives to build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities; provide hands‑on support in closing key deals.
  • Support sales representatives in developing weekly customer visit plans and maintaining disciplined field activity.
  • Oversee successful onboarding of new customers, including training on KCD products, services, and systems.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the regional competitive landscape and develop targeted plans to capture market share.
  • Communicate market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights from the field back to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Partner with the Customer Care team to resolve complex customer situations and ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
  • Travel up to 80% of the time throughout the assigned region.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales management experience, including leadership of internal and external sales teams across a multi‑state or regional geography.
  • Good working knowledge of sales management techniques.
  • Prior experience in the building materials industry required; cabinetry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working for large distributors and managing complex, multi‑channel sales organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sustained revenue growth in a B2B environment.
  • Strong understanding of dealer, distributor, and pro‑direct sales channels.
  • Proven track record of new account acquisition and closing cold‑call opportunities.
  • Experience managing large corporate or regional customer accounts.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities, and implement effective solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑growth environment with limited resources.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make timely, independent decisions while taking ownership and accountability for results.
  • Highly motivated, results‑driven leader with a strong team‑oriented mindset.
