JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and integrity of our software ecosystem. Operating in a hybrid environment, this role bridges the gap between traditional quality assurance and modern automated engineering.

Utilizing a blend of foundational testing logic, robust API validation, and AI-assisted automation frameworks, the QA Analyst will actively collaborate with development teams to identify defects early in the lifecycle and streamline the continuous integration pipeline. This position is ideal for a high-potential professional with 1–2 years of experience who is eager to scale their automation capabilities and drive engineering efficiency within a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Early Defect Detection: Collaborate with the development team early in the development lifecycle to isolate bugs, clarify requirements, and prevent defects from reaching production. Requirements traceability will be a metric of future success.

  • API Validation & Interoperability: Conduct rigorous testing at the API layer to validate backend logic, ensure data integrity across services, and confirm seamless communication with third-party software applications.

  • Data Integration & Verification: Working with senior members of the enterprise team, write and run database queries to inspect data pipelines, verify back-end triggers, and ensure information flows accurately throughout the enterprise ecosystem.

  • Automated Framework Development: Build, maintain, and execute automated regression test suites to systematically replace manual testing workflows and shorten the release lifecycle.

  • AI Tool Utilization: Leverage modern, AI-assisted engineering and automation tools to draft test cases, generate scripts efficiently, and optimize test coverage within continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Onsite Collaboration & Operations: Actively participate in sprint planning, engineering reviews, and cross-functional problem-solving during required onsite days at the Buffalo, NY office.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 1–2 years of professional software quality assurance experience, with a focus on web applications, integration testing, or automated pipelines.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to systematically trace bugs across backend APIs, databases, and frontend interfaces to isolate root causes.

  • Proven integrity in handling sensitive corporate information, proprietary business logic, and live production or test data with strict confidentiality.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service mindset when translating technical bugs into actionable feedback for developers, business analysts, and leadership.

  • Practical exposure to API testing tools (e.g., Bruno or Postman), database query writing, and automated or AI-assisted testing tools.
