Project Developer - East Coast

Piper Maddox is partnering with an industrial wastewater company, searching for a Project Developer to sit at the center of project execution, helping move opportunities from early-stage development through FID while coordinating across commercial, technical, and operational teams.

The position is highly cross-functional and suited for someone who enjoys managing complex infrastructure projects, working directly with customers and external stakeholders, and helping drive projects from concept into execution. While Heartland is also exploring newer concepts like its Evaporation-as-a-Service (EaaS) platform, the primary focus of this role will be supporting and expanding the company’s core BOO project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own projects from early-stage development through FID, helping move opportunities from concept into execution
• Work closely with BD, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to keep projects progressing across multiple workstreams
• Support commercial discussions, customer agreements, permitting efforts, and overall project strategy
• Help evaluate new sites and development opportunities tied to Heartland’s growing EaaS platform
• Build relationships with customers, landowners, regulators, and other key stakeholders throughout the development process

Key Background Requirements:

• Experience in project development for large-scale complex projects (industrials, oil & gas, RNG, wastewater, landfill gas, environmental infrastructure).
• Experience working on $5M–$10M+ infrastructure or industrial development projects
• Someone who can balance technical project coordination with commercial and customer-facing responsibilities
• Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces and driving projects forward in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships externally
• Familiarity with project economics, commercial agreements, and navigating complex stakeholder environments
