About The Company

Winfield Thorne is a sell-side M&A advisory firm specializing in mid-market exits (£2M–£100M). We represent founders, business owners, and CEOs looking to sell their companies. As the dedicated sell-side advisory arm of Palmstone Capital ($14B+ in transaction volume), we combine institutional infrastructure with a focused sell-side practice.

About The Role

This fellowship is designed as a career launchpad for students aiming for top roles in finance. As part of Winfield Thorne, a specialized M&A advisory firm within an international private holding group, you will gain experience that goes far beyond the typical classroom or club environment.

You will receive direct exposure to institutional deal-making and the proprietary methodologies used to navigate mid-market transactions across the UK, Europe, and the USA.

This fellowship is highly selective and unpaid, structured similarly to practical training programs across the U.S. and Europe.

About The Fellowship

You will work on real, finance-focused tasks and gain an understanding of how deals and firms are analyzed at a professional level. You will learn how investment bankers evaluate companies, structure transactions, and communicate value to sophisticated global buyers.

This is ideal for students seeking to secure future roles in investment banking, private equity, private credit, or corporate finance.

Responsibilities

  • Support financial modeling (DCF, comparables, and precedent transactions).
  • Assist in preparing institutional-grade pitchbooks, teasers, and Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs).
  • Conduct industry and company research across multiple international sectors.
  • Analyze financial statements and earnings reports for mid-market firms.
  • Support the administration of virtual data rooms and due diligence for live multimillion-pound transactions.
  • Contribute to investment memos and internal briefs used by senior dealmakers.
  • Assist with investor outreach research and strategic buyer mapping.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who

  • Are pursuing a degree in finance, economics, business, or related fields.
  • Have a strong interest in investment banking, M&A, or private equity.
  • Strong Plus: Have previous experience or proficiency in building Decks, Teasers, and Financial Models.
  • Are analytical, detail-oriented, and possess an "Extreme Ownership" mindset.
  • Are ambitious, driven, and eager to learn in a high-performance environment.
  • Are comfortable communicating professionally in a remote, global setting.

What You Will Gain

  • Real exposure to international investment banking deal workflows.
  • Hands-on practice in financial modeling, valuation, and market research.
  • Experience preparing professional-quality pitch materials and analysis decks.
  • Resume-ready deliverables that differentiate you from typical applicants.
  • Insight into the mechanics of cross-border M&A and capital markets dynamics.
