We are an early-stage neurotechnology company pushing the boundaries of brain-computer interfaces through cutting-edge MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) design and fabrication. We're a small, driven team working at the intersection of neuroscience and engineering — and we're looking for a hands-on intern to grow with us.
The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented engineering intern to support our MEMS team in the prototyping and development of next-generation neural devices. This is a hands-on lab role where precision and care matter — you'll be working with microscale components that require a steady hand and a sharp eye.
Location: University of Southern California / Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Type: Part-Time Internship (10-20 hours/week)
Compensation: $35-45/hr
What You'll Do
- Inspect and document microdevices using microscopy and other lab tools
- Perform electrical packaging tasks including soldering, cleaning, and component assembly
- Prepare and package devices for shipping
- Support general lab operations and organization
- Potentially assist with work in the USC cleanroom (training provided)
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable using microscopes, tweezers, and fine tools
- Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Meticulous, careful, and observant — you notice things others miss
Highly Preferred:
- Hands-on soldering experience
A Plus:
- Any prior lab experience
- Cleanroom experience (a significant plus — but absolutely not required)
No prior industry experience is necessary. We're happy to train the right person.
Why Join Us
