ROLE: Lead Data Analyst/Engineer

LOCATION: Raritan, New Jersey


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • The position will lead technical and business analysis that is critical in discovery process requirement for additional data loads – this would include new and existing datasets supporting the taxonomy for JJMD – (Core & Non-core taxonomy subject areas)
  • Strong collaboration with business and IT product owners to ensure comprehensive and aligned approach to IT roadmap per additional systems (i.e. CRM).
  • Resource will be the Subject Matter Authority, specific to the Commercial Master Data environments for JJMD, DPS, and SURGERY taxonomies. As needed, resource will lead/support all data related testing initiatives/strategies for new datasets and system remediations that have impact in their areas of data management responsibility (JJMD, DPS, SURGERY)
  • Partner with Commercial Leadership to build and deliver monthly metrics that provide objective insights to the Master Data Management teams to efficiently implement action plans
  • Proactively see opportunities for data management improvements which includes ongoing updates to management on key strategies
  • Implement ad hoc analytics that support key initiatives and projects; provide analysis and recommendations around project feasibility to Management
  • Strong partnering and collaboration with IT to ensure system integration and approach data loads, governance, and logic. Will develop and install appropriate levels of controls per interim data loads and also focus on long term systems approach
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed


EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in medical device, or healthcare field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive work experience required with a minimum of 5 years in a data management or related role required.
  • A consistent track record of working in an environment where a high degree of collaboration is needed is also required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS*

  • Leadership, collaboration, communication and analytical skills are required. Ability to lead cross-functional teams, sometimes requiring running and leading without authority as needed. Ability to work on multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
  • Experience with Database structures (i.e. AWS (Redshift, PostgreSQL, S3), Azure Databricks, Oracle, SQLSERVER, etc.) and ETL technologies (i.e. Informatica, python coding etc.)
  • Experience in query data access tools (i.e. SQL, Alteryx, Focus, etc. ) and data access methods.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL code and/or analytical/business intelligence tools (e.g. Qlik Sense, Qlik View, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc.) is required, with a minimum of two years’ experience in using these tools for data analysis, testing or data validation.
  • Proficient Excel, PowerPoint and interpersonal skills.
  • With supervision, ability to understand, translate and integrate multiple data sources into useful datasets / data models to drive decision-making is required. Must be comfortable working with large data-mining exercises.
  • Proven success in problem solving and team partnership.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
