LHH is partnering with a dynamic, multi-location organization to hire their next Director of Human Resources. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced HR professional who thrives in fast-paced, people-focused environments. This role is much more than traditional HR operations. The organization is seeking a strategic, influential leader who can confidently navigate complex employee relations matters, coach leaders across multiple locations, and help shape HR strategy, culture, and organizational effectiveness at a broader level. If you enjoy solving challenging people issues, partnering closely with executive leadership, mentoring HR teams, and driving meaningful process improvements, this could be an exciting next step in your career. This is a hybrid position based in the Portland metro area with a salary range of $140,000–$170,000 DOE. Responsibilities:
• Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and escalations across multiple locations
• Partner with senior leadership on employee relations strategy, compliance, and organizational risk mitigation
• Coach and support HR leaders across a decentralized environment
• Deliver trainings related to employment law, leadership development, and HR best practices
• Support and improve HR policies, processes, tools, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide guidance on leave management, accommodations, and workplace compliance matters
• Serve as a trusted advisor to operational and executive leadership teams
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience within complex, multi-site organizations
• Strong background in employee relations, investigations, and employment law
• Experience supporting multi-state operations
• Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and teams without direct authority
• Executive presence with strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience mentoring or coaching HR professionals
• HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
