Hardware Engineering Manager – Connected Devices

FTE - Permanent Position

Dallas, Texas - Hybrid

Salary: Up to $175,000

We are seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the development of advanced residential networking devices. This is a critical leadership role with a strong emphasis on hardware ownership, where you will drive end-to-end product delivery while partnering closely with established embedded software teams.

This position is ideal for someone with deep, hands-on experience across the full hardware lifecycle, ready to take ownership in an environment where hardware expertise is a key differentiator.

You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (approx. 20 engineers) and take responsibility for delivering connected devices from concept through to production and lifecycle support. While you will collaborate closely with software teams, hardware is the core focus, requiring strong technical leadership across RF, electronics, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development of hardware-centric products, from architecture through to industrialisation and launch
  • Drive system design across electronics, RF (Wi-Fi/5G), antenna, thermal, and mechanical integration
  • Own hardware decision-making, including design trade-offs, component selection, and regulatory compliance (e.g. FCC)
  • Manage and develop a team of engineers, setting priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring delivery against milestones
  • Oversee project execution, including planning, risk management, validation, and performance tracking
  • Ensure effective hardware–software integration, working closely with embedded software teams across the development lifecycle
  • Maintain high standards of quality, reliability, and cost efficiency, from development through manufacturing and field performance

Requirements & Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in engineering, with a strong focus on hardware development for connected or consumer electronic devices
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and delivering complex products to market
  • Deep expertise across the hardware lifecycle, including RF design (Wi-Fi, 5G/LTE), antenna design, PCB development, high-speed interfaces, and thermal/system integration
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and certification processes (e.g. FCC or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems and the software development lifecycle, with the ability to collaborate effectively with software teams
  • Experience working with SoCs and connectivity platforms used in networking or similar devices
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across global or distributed teams

Why This Role?

  • Take ownership of hardware in a business where it is a strategic priority and key capability gap
  • Lead the development of high-volume, cutting-edge connected devices
  • Work alongside experienced software teams while shaping the hardware direction from the ground up

If this role sounds like a challenge you are ready to take on, we would love to hear from you!
