Financial Controller

Innovative Driven is currently seeking a Controller to join a collaborative team at one of our most prestigious law firm clients!

This full-time and hybrid (3-4 days in office and the rest remote) in the Summit, NJ office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including collections oversight, vendor payments, disbursements, and expense reimbursements.
• Monitor firm bank accounts and financial activity, ensuring proper financial recordkeeping and reporting.
• Facilitate payroll processing and commission tracking in coordination with external providers as needed.
• Support administration of employee benefits related to finance, including coordination of the firm’s 401(k) plan.
• Oversee all financial operations of the firm, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls across finance-related functions.
• Manage the firm’s client onboarding process, including conflict checks, opening new client matters, and generating engagement letters.
• Oversee and maintain the firm’s timekeeping and billing systems, including administration of the timekeeping platform and management of billing cycles and invoicing processes.
• Provide financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to firm leadership to support operational planning and decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience managing billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll coordination, and financial reporting.
• Prior experience in a finance leadership role within a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of law firm or professional services billing practices and financial operations.
