Senior Client Manager - Water/Wastewater

About the Opportunity


A leading, employee-owned engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Client Manager to support the continued growth of its municipal water and wastewater practice across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.


This is a high-visibility, client-facing leadership role focused on developing strategic relationships, driving revenue growth, and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions to public sector clients.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and grow key municipal client accounts within the water and wastewater sector
  • Drive business development efforts from opportunity identification through proposal and close
  • Develop and execute client-specific growth strategies
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to public sector clients, identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions
  • Collaborate internally to assemble and lead high-performing technical teams
  • Prepare and present proposals, scopes, and budget estimates
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee successful project execution
  • Maintain strong client relationships to support long-term revenue growth
  • Mentor and support junior team members within account management and business development
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings


What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering consulting, with a focus on municipal water/wastewater clients
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client management within the public sector
  • Strong understanding of the full BD lifecycle (positioning, proposals, presentations, close)
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally to drive successful outcomes
  • Experience leading pursuits and managing complex client accounts
  • Background in environmental or civil engineering preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel regionally (20%)
