Chief Preconstruction Manager – Industrial Division

Responsibilities:

Seeking an experienced Chief Preconstruction Manager to help lead our Industrial Division. This position will be based in Dallas, Texas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead multiple estimates simultaneously across a variety of project delivery methods and project types
• Manage and mentor teams of estimators and preconstruction professionals
• Prepare and oversee conceptual estimates, benchmarking studies, and detailed cost analyses
• Execute and manage multiple delivery methods including Hard Bid, Negotiated GMP, Design-Build, and IPD
• Collaborate with operations teams regarding general requirements, project staffing, fees, financial projections, and construction schedules
• Utilize industry estimating and project planning software including P6, BuildingConnected, BlueBeam, Agtek, Sage, Destini, Assemble, and related platforms
• Analyze project pro-formas and identify unique project-specific risks and opportunities
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across departments, offices, and regional teams
• Assist division leadership in forecasting pursuit costs and managing preconstruction resources
• Develop and implement strategies that improve win rates and client satisfaction
• Strategically allocate preconstruction resources to maximize return on investment
• Partner with clients to understand project goals, priorities, and budget expectations
• Forecast staffing needs and manage departmental workload/capacity planning
• Lead budget reviews with clients, design teams, and trade partners
• Guide design and estimating teams through budgeting milestones to maintain alignment with target costs
• Present estimates and preconstruction strategies during client presentations and interviews
• Manage, coach, mentor, and develop estimating staff, including conducting annual performance evaluations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and industry partners
• Research emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in preconstruction to drive innovation and operational improvement

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 15 years of construction industry experience
• 5–10 years of experience leading progressively larger and more complex estimates and estimating teams
• Demonstrated success performing at a Senior Estimator or Preconstruction leadership level
• Strong understanding of all phases of preconstruction and estimating
