Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

Our client, an apparel & sleepwear manufacturer, is looking for an Associate Designer to join their team in New York!


**WFH Flexibility on Fridays


  • Research the market and emerging trends, working with senior designers on seasonal color forecasting, print concepts, and product direction.
  • Create and present design ideas, participate in design meetings, trend presentations, proto reviews, line reviews, and other key milestone meetings.
  • Attend fittings and give feedback.
  • Make presentations and visual materials for internal and external meetings.
  • Create relationships with cross-functional partners, including Sales, Product Development, and Graphics.
  • Develop color palettes, flat sketches, and detailed product concepts.
  • Create CADs and assist in selecting colors, prints, patterns, and other design elements for seasonal and customer presentations.
  • Review and approve print and graphic strike-offs to ensure alignment.
  • Oversee the completion of accurate technical development packages and production packages.
  • Communicate with overseas factories regarding product development, production, costing, and design execution.
  • Track projects and follow up with cross-functional and overseas partners to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Prioritize and delegate work for Associates, Assistants, and Interns based on business needs and project timelines.


REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in fashion, apparel, or intimate apparel design; sleepwear experience is a plus.
  • Degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong design sensibility with an understanding of color, print, trend, and commercial product development.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Passion for fashion and the ability to balance creativity with commercial and customer needs.
  • Willingness and availability to travel overseas when necessary.
