Assistant Project Manager

We’re currently seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Charleston, SC. As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work closely with our Project Managers, playing a critical role in various project phases, from planning and scheduling to execution and closeout. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in project management.

This position will directly support a large healthcare project in North Charleston.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and management of project schedules, budgets, and scopes
• Support the Project Manager in coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports
• Track project progress, identify potential issues, and help implement solutions to keep projects on track
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations on job sites
• Assist with cost control, including tracking expenditures and supporting invoice processing
• Participate in project meetings, taking minutes and tracking action items
• Assist with on-site project management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in a Senior Project Engineer/APM role
• Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology, and safety practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
