The Assistant Controller is a integral member of the Accounting & Finance team, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the Senior Leaders in finance and accounting. This role carries meaningful supervisory responsibility and is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset.



Responsibilities

  • Own the preparation and review of periodic financial statements; monthly, quarterly, and annual; for internal leadership, external auditors, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform ongoing financial analysis to surface meaningful trends, flag variances early, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Manage the full spectrum of daily accounting operations; close processes, cash activity, treasury, AP, AR, capex, payroll, and project-based work.
  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing hands-on guidance, constructive feedback, and support for long-term career growth.
  • Review staff-prepared journal entries and supporting schedules to confirm alignment with applicable accounting standards.
  • Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliation completion and quality review across the team.
  • Build and refine accounting policies and procedures that support a well-controlled environment.
  • Prepare audit support packages and respond to external auditor and tax advisor requests in a timely, organized manner.


Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting REQUIRED; Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Active CPA REQUIRED
  • Total of 6-10 years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Prior or current experience in public accounting REQUIRED; seeking experience with small to mid-size PE backed clients
  • Prior or current experience in a PE backed technology company high preferred
  • Comfortable working across various ERP platforms
  • Excellent communication skills required
