The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for processing accounts payable transactions while continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes and automation through systems such as Coupa. This role works within a dynamic team environment and collaborates closely with internal departments and external vendors throughout the full accounts payable cycle.
What You’ll Do
Process accounts payable invoices and meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals
Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices are captured
Work directly with vendors to resolve discrepancies
Maintain vendor terms to ensure timely payments and maximize available discounts
Assist in transitioning vendors to electronic payment methods to reduce AP timelines and aging
Obtain and maintain new vendor information, including W-9s and vendor files
Sort incoming mail, scan documents, and route materials through the automated AP system
Monitor address changes to ensure checks are sent to correct remit addresses
Communicate with internal departments and external vendors regarding invoice approvals and payment inquiries
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience in accounts payable
Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business (a plus)
Experience in healthcare and/or veterinary industry (preferred, not required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Thorough knowledge of Excel, including complex formulas
Working knowledge of AP software such as Intacct or Coupa
Experience with AP automation software, digital scanning, and electronic approval workflows
Understand high vendor volumes, variances and monthly activity to identify and solve any anomalies
Possess advanced data entry skills
