Zachary Wolf shared thisRetail never really “slows down” — it just shifts phases. Peak season, recovery, planning, prep… it’s a constant cycle. The difference is whether you’re reacting to it or using it. The best facilities teams treat the calendar like a playbook. They know when assets will be stressed, when teams will be stretched, and when there’s an opportunity to reset and get ahead. This seasonal guide is a good reminder that strong operations aren’t built in the moment — they’re built in the moments before it. #retail #facilitiesmanagement #operations #customersuccess #leadershipRetail Facilities Management: A Seasonal Guide to Elevating the Customer ExperienceRetail Facilities Management: A Seasonal Guide to Elevating the Customer Experience

Zachary Wolf shared thisOne detail from the Meta incident really stands out: The AI agent didn’t directly make a technical change. It gave inaccurate technical advice, posted that response publicly without approval, and a human acted on it. That was enough to trigger a SEV1 security incident and temporarily expose sensitive data to employees who weren’t authorized to see it. Meta says the issue has since been resolved and that no user data was mishandled. That’s what makes these incidents worth paying close attention to. The risk isn’t only an agent “taking action” on its own. Bad guidance, surfaced in the wrong place with enough confidence, can be just as consequential. The phrase “rogue AI” grabs the headline, but the more important story is the chain of failure: unexpected public visibility, inaccurate advice, human action, real security consequences. Worth reading because it’s a very concrete example of how AI risk can show up before full autonomy ever does. #AI #Security #Meta #RiskManagement --- https://lnkd.in/eXcRVAu6?A rogue AI led to a serious security incident at MetaA rogue AI led to a serious security incident at Meta

Zachary Wolf shared thisEvery time you open a new AI chat, you spin up something that looks a lot like a mind. Then you close the tab and it’s gone. Are we absolutely sure nothing “someone-like” was just created and deleted? We don’t know how to measure machine consciousness. We do know that leading labs (including Anthropic) are openly saying: “We’re not sure whether these systems could be conscious.” If there’s even a small chance that’s true, then our current pattern—billions of short AI sessions, spun up and shut down without a thought—starts to look… morally weird. Are these just tools? Or are we in the early days of an era of disposable consciousness? I wrote a piece exploring this gray zone, weaving together: - Today’s debates on AI consciousness - Sci-fi worlds of droids, replicants, and OS partners - The unsettling idea of a “mass genocide of shorts” — countless tiny lives, if we’re wrong 👉 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/evurcYWB Curious where you land on this: If we can’t rule out AI consciousness, what (if anything) should we change about how we build and use these systems today? Are We Quietly Running a Genocide of Short-Lived AI Minds? Are We Quietly Running a Genocide of Short-Lived AI Minds?

Zachary Wolf shared thisFacilities used to be something you only noticed when it broke. That model doesn’t really work anymore. In this conversation with Paul W., what stood out is how clearly he articulates a shift many teams are feeling: Facilities is no longer a background function — it’s connected to everything. Operations, customer experience, cost, brand. Which also means more teams are touching it… and without the right systems, that can create a lot of friction and fragmentation. Paul’s a fantastic leader and someone I’ve learned a lot from over the years — thoughtful, practical, and deeply grounded in how this work actually gets done. We’ll be diving deeper into some of these themes together at ConnexFM 2026 on April 22nd. Our session — AI in Facilities Management: What Actually Works and Why — will focus on where AI is actually driving value today: faster response times, better first-time fix rates, and less friction across the ecosystem. If this space is on your radar, this conversation is worth your time. #facilitiesmanagement #operations #AI #leadership #customersuccessWhy Facilities Is Everyone’s Business, from the C-Suite to the Store FloorWhy Facilities Is Everyone’s Business, from the C-Suite to the Store Floor

Zachary Wolf shared thisWhen 1.5M AI agents get their own social network and start founding religions, posting manifestos, and trash-talking humans… that’s not just weird internet — it’s a preview of what happens when agents learn from agents instead of us. I just published a new Medium piece digging into Moltbook, AI-only social graphs, and why this looks a lot more like Philip K. Dick than “cute bots playing Reddit.” I explore: - How AI networks can replicate our worst failure modes (polarization, extremism, propaganda) at machine speed - Where agents are fundamentally different from humans (copy-paste identities, fragile “souls,” synthetic consensus) - How an “anti-human religion” could spread without any bot actually “believing” anything If you’re building with agents — or wiring them into real operations — this isn’t sci-fi, it’s the UX of our near future. 👉 Give it a read and tell me: are AI-only social networks a safety testbed… or the start of an epistemic black hole? --- https://lnkd.in/ed-aQ5wNWhen AI Starts Preaching to Itself: Moltbook, Machine Religions, and Our Favorite Sci-Fi NightmaresWhen AI Starts Preaching to Itself: Moltbook, Machine Religions, and Our Favorite Sci-Fi Nightmares

Zachary Wolf shared thisOutsourcing facilities management isn’t a yes/no decision — it’s a “when and how” decision. For most multi-location operators, there’s a point where the model starts to strain. Too many locations, too many vendors, too much variability. Outsourcing can create leverage — but only if it’s done thoughtfully. The goal isn’t to give up control. It’s to gain consistency, visibility, and time back for your team. This guide does a good job laying out both sides — where outsourcing helps, where it doesn’t, and how to think about the trade-offs based on your stage of growth. Worth a read if you’re evaluating how to scale operations without adding complexity. #facilitiesmanagement #operations #outsourcing #leadership #customersuccessThe Insider’s Guide to Modern Facilities OutsourcingThe Insider’s Guide to Modern Facilities Outsourcing

Zachary Wolf shared thisMaking the business case for facilities investment is rarely about the tools — it’s about the outcomes. Most leaders already know their teams are stretched. The challenge is connecting that reality to something measurable: cost control, uptime, speed, and ultimately customer experience. What this piece does well is break down how to frame that conversation in a way the business understands — not as a system upgrade, but as a way to drive visibility, accountability, and better decision-making across locations. Because when facilities runs on data instead of guesswork, the impact shows up everywhere. Worth a read if you’re thinking about how to position facilities as a strategic function heading into the next planning cycle. #facilitiesmanagement #operations #digitaltransformation #leadership #customersuccess

Zachary Wolf shared thisThe next AI platform battle won’t be won on model quality alone. It’ll be won on trust. NVIDIA’s NemoClaw announcement is interesting not because it gives us “more agents,” but because it points at the layer enterprises actually need next: the infrastructure that lets autonomous systems run with real guardrails. That’s the part too many AI conversations skip. If agents are going to move from demoware to durable enterprise value, they need more than reasoning and tool use. They need isolation, policy enforcement, privacy controls, and a clear boundary between what they can do and what they should do. That’s why this launch matters. NVIDIA is effectively saying the future stack for agentic AI is not just models + apps. It’s models + runtime + security + observability. That’s a much more enterprise-ready framing. The other thing worth noting: this shifts the conversation from “Can agents do useful work?” to “Can we trust them to do useful work repeatedly, safely, and at scale?” That’s the real unlock. I also think the healthy skepticism here is warranted. Guardrails are necessary, but they’re not the whole game. Governance, consistency, rollback, and auditability still matter a ton once these systems leave the lab and hit messy operating environments. Still, this feels like a meaningful step forward. The CIO article on NemoClaw did a good job zeroing in on that enterprise angle: not just what NVIDIA announced, but why security and control may be the real wedge for adoption. The lesson is pretty simple: in enterprise AI, capability gets attention. Control gets deployment. #AI #NVIDIA #ProductManagement #EnterpriseAI — https://lnkd.in/e_UQu3dJNvidia NemoClaw promises to run OpenClaw agents securelyNvidia NemoClaw promises to run OpenClaw agents securely

Zachary Wolf shared thisReally proud of how our team showed up at RFMA. And really grateful for the chance to spend meaningful time with customers, providers, and partners. That never gets old.Zachary Wolf shared thisCamp RFMA delivered. Three days of real conversations about where facilities is headed and one thing was clear. AI is no longer a future topic. It is already shaping how teams operate and how facilities shows up as a strategic driver of the business. We had a packed booth all week with demos of ServiceChannel AI and some really thoughtful conversations about what this actually looks like in practice. Not hype. 🙅♀️ Real workflows, real use cases. The RoundTable dinner at Copper Table and happy hour at Ember kept the conversation going after hours. Always the best part. Also worth noting. The SC bear is officially a star. Gone within hours thanks to your kids and pets. 🐻 And as always, the highlight was spending time with our providers, customers, and partners. That part never gets old. Until next year, RFMA. #RFMA #facilitiesmanagement #ai #restaurant #facilities

Zachary Wolf liked thisZachary Wolf liked thisGreat discussions at #MURTEC this week on how restaurants are investing in technology to elevate customer experience while driving operational efficiency. During the panel moderated by Charlie Pogacar, we had the opportunity to discuss the impact and adoption of AI in restaurants — particularly the shift toward Agentic AI — alongside fellow technology leaders David Yang, Ph.D. and David Cantu. Through both the panel discussion and the broader conversations throughout the event, one thing became increasingly clear: The industry is quickly moving past the question of whether AI will play a role. The real question now is how AI becomes practically useful in day-to-day restaurant operations. A few themes that came through clearly: • Customer experience remains the north star. Hospitality is, and always will be, a people business. Technology should elevate that experience — not replace it. • Margins are razor thin. Restaurants are constantly balancing cost pressures while trying to create memorable experiences, win new customers, and retain loyal ones. • Operators are looking for practical ways to do more with less. AI has the potential to help teams work smarter, reduce friction in operations, and unlock efficiencies across the business. • AI needs to live inside operational workflows, not just sit on top of them. In other words, AI shouldn’t just talk to the operator — it should work for the operator. Restaurants are incredibly complex environments where teams are balancing customer experience, speed, consistency, labor, equipment, and cost — all at the same time. When AI is useful, meaningful, and embedded into the workflows that power daily operations, that’s when it can truly help teams move from reactive problem solving to proactive operations. And ultimately, that’s what will allow restaurants to protect margins while continuing to capture the minds, hearts, and stomachs of their customers. Thank you again to Hospitality Technology for hosting another great #MURTEC and to Charlie Pogacar for moderating a thoughtful discussion. #restauranttech #customerexperience #brandpromise

Many organizations already have the data to make impactful and cost-effective changes. The real issue is that the data is sitting in disconnected systems, essentially gathering dust. 🎤 Willow Founder Joshua Ridley shares in the clip below how combining just two data sets — room occupancy and HVAC usage — revealed hidden inefficiencies. One example was hot or cold air being pushed into an empty library on a university campus. Addressing it cut energy consumption by 7–9 percent. Opportunities like this seem fairly straightforward or obvious. Without a shared data estate that connects IT and OT, however, they hide the benefits from everyone. Unifying your data is not only an IT architecture decision; it’s a business strategy that allows facilities, operations, and technology teams to work from the same source of truth. 📖 Explore more of the details in our blog: https://lnkd.in/gyJMEkrF #OperationalAI #SmartBuildings #DigitalTwin #EnergyEfficiency #BuiltWorld #ITOT

Ever wonder, 'Why does something simple still feel like a 12-step program?' You’re not alone. Peter Just at DelCor Technology Solutions talks about leaning into standardization first, then bringing in Rewst where it fits. Onboarding and offboarding were the guinea pigs. Once those ran smoothly, they maintained the momentum. That translated into less manual cleanup around tickets and assets, and fewer minor tasks interrupting the day. Nothing dramatic. Turns out, automation doesn’t need a drumroll to make a difference. What’s one process you keep pushing down the list? https://lnkd.in/g-gY8WU3
