Tim's Strategy was a blog I started as a passion project, a way to give back to my community.

As a marketer, I had a distinct advantage vs. others. I learned I could help others looking for work. This included help with staying positive and telling your story with confidence.

I wrote a few books based on the blog content including one called "HeadStrong: The Keys To A Confident And Positive Attitude During Job Search" ---> https://a.co/d/euhk58n

  • Headstrong: The Keys To A Confident And Positive Attitude During Job Search

    CreateSpace (An Amazon Company)

Earlier in my career, I felt a strong desire to create something outside of my day job. As a marketer and during the difficult job market in 2008 and 2009, I decided to start helping people - especially those who couldn't get organized, were focused on the wrong things or struggled to tell a compelling personal story. Writing this book helped me organize my thoughts into a somewhat cohesive structure. Sort of like a "What to expect when you are expecting"...but for those finding themselves "in…

Sort of like a "What to expect when you are expecting"...but for those finding themselves "in transition".

    Here's the summary:

A positive attitude says something about you. It says that you have an inner confidence that is not easily shaken. And while we may feel good about ourselves when employed, a job search can test our mind’s ability to maintain that feeling. During job search, you will experience disappointment, frustration and negative feedback. Perhaps for the first time in your career. And when a job search extends beyond your expected re-hire date, there is potential for a downward spiral. A loss of confidence. And, worse, a desperation about your situation. This book is a step-by-step guide through the job search process with a focus on helping you to build and maintain a confident and positive attitude.

Help Lightning had an old logo with brand elements that caused confusion in the market. The old logo's styled use of the word "Lightning" in a prominent way created confusion that the company was in the "lighting" industry. Working with an agency, Binary Pulse (Newport Beach, CA), we created a new modern and balanced logo along with a fully revised set of brand guidelines.

In addition, we worked to update the website as well as all of the materials used to support the site as well as enable this sales team.

The branding effort reduced confusion and paved the way for market clarity and increased sales engagement with prospects.

  • Digital Map Products - Upmarket Relaunch As A Complete Platform

    -

The company value prop and technology was delivered through a disparate set of features/functions/products. We saw an opportunity in marketing to tell a holistic, outcome-based story, instead.

Through time, growth and acquisition, the company had accumulated 15 product names and we saw an opportunity to significantly reduce our footprint and complexity.

The company had a scientific and complex communication style that contradicts the ”easy” our customers wanted. Based on this, we…

The company had a scientific and complex communication style that contradicts the ”easy” our customers wanted. Based on this, we decided to move toward with a more friendly, simple voice and personality.

We had a company name (Digital Map Products) that under-represents our value to the market. We had an opportunity to modernize public perception and tell our platform story as "DMP Location Intelligence Platform".

For this project at Kareo, we teamed up with a strong technology marketing agency named Binary Pulse (Newport Beach, CA) to engage directly with doctors in small/private medical practices in the U.S. The campaign was timed with the launch of the company's new software platform, targeting who are and wish to remain independent.
