Tim Warner shared thisNot to be too reductionistic, but had Anthropic run this single GitHub CodeQL query in their publishing pipeline, they might have caught their shipped map file (which erroneously included a direct URI pointer to a CloudFlare R2 bucket containing a Claude Code CLI source code snapshot) and not be in the bowl of soup they're in today. Makes me sad.

After years of teaching this stack, I’ve learned: - Reliability matters more than features in high-pressure moments. - If your tools introduce uncertainty, your people feel it immediately. I'm curious how others handle this: do you have a “pre-flight check” before critical calls?

Tim Warner shared thisToday I received a lightly troubling announcement email from GitHub: "From April 24 onward, we will use interaction data—including inputs, outputs, code snippets and associated context—from Copilot Free, Pro, and Pro+ users to train and enhance our AI models unless they opt out." Although this policy change doesn't affect GitHub Copilot Business or Enterprise accounts, I'm disappointed to see GitHub taking this step backward in terms of user privacy. The ones who will actually change their organizations will start at Lecture 8. → Lecture 1 covers Transformers. → Lecture 4 covers training. → Lecture 7 covers agentic systems. All of it belongs in your foundation. But Lecture 8 is what most enterprise AI teams skip in production. LLM evaluation. LLM-as-a-Judge. Benchmarks. Knowing how a model works doesn't protect you from a $3M error. Knowing how to evaluate one does. That's where the AI Execution Gap™ actually lives. Not in the architecture. Not in the training. In the evaluation layer that nobody built. I've watched enterprise teams run capable models for 6+ months and still miss critical failure modes. Not because they didn't understand transformers. Because no one defined what "good" meant in their specific context. → No evaluation loop. → No structured judgment layer. → No accountability system. Just a model in production with nobody watching the right signals. This curriculum closes the knowledge gap. It does not close the execution gap. That part is on you. If your team is deploying AI in production right now, Lecture 8 is required viewing for every technical lead. Here’s how I’m planning to prepare for it (steal my roadmap): Week 1 Complete the recommended courses: - Building with the Claude API - Introduction to Model Context Protocol - Claude Code in Action - Claude 101 Week 2 Build real projects with: - Claude Code - Agent SDK - Anthropic API - MCP Week 3 Get familiar with the exam structure and guide: - Go through the six exam scenarios - Get familiar with the five competency areas / domains - Learn the skills needed for each task assessment Week 4 Do the preparation exercises from the exam guide: - Build a Multi-Tool Agent with Escalation Logic - Configure Claude Code for a Team Development Workflow - Build a Structured Data Extraction Pipeline - Design and Debug a Multi-Agent Research Pipeline Week 5 - Take the practice exam - Aim for a score greater than 850 / 1000 Week 6 - Take the real exam - Only one attempt allowed NOTES: - At this point the certification is exclusive for Anthropic Partners and early access is free for first 5,000 partner company employees. - Your mileage may vary depending on your skill level. When I first became an MCT, I thought it was about being qualified to train others. That’s not the complete truth. The truth is — I’ve been training throughout my consulting career for years. Working with teams, upskilling organizations, translating complex technology into something people could actually use. That was always part of the work. Becoming an MCT was about making it official. Putting a name to something I was already doing and committing to it fully. And what I didn’t expect? Being an MCT is really about never stopping being a student yourself. The conversations after sessions. The questions I couldn’t answer. The things I went home and looked up. The people who taught me something without knowing they did. The MCT credential doesn’t just say “this person can teach.” It says “this person chose to stay in the room — as a trainer AND as a learner.” That’s the part nobody tells you about. Thank you to the MCT community for the warmth, the generosity, and the constant inspiration.
