OMT (Open Media Transport) works today. OMT and NDI can even co-exist in OBS. Here's where I believe OMT will shine. OMT is an 80% product. 80% of OBS, StreamYard, vMix users needs to get 2-4 cameras into their switcher. That's it, no multicast.... not hundreds of sources... Just a handful of sources over IP for your live stream or podcast. OBS can send/receive OMT today...and that's the big advantage. ...and it can also be setup in a cloud environment with the discovery server. NDI still has a place...especially for pro setups and more than a handful of sources. ...and competition is a good thing.

Here’s what I took in at all 3x GA Entertainment Panels this year. 💪🍑 Too often, we spend time preaching to the choir about Georgia’s merits. What made the “Made in Georgia” panel so valuable was the chance with speak to every single type of person in the industry, outside my inner circle, at once. From new to old Filmmakers, repeat GA producers and heavy weight indie champions, platform engineers, new fangled creators with millions of views, to studio executives. They were all there, under one roof, curious about what’s happening in GA, its next chapter, and ready to share THEIR own experiences to improve it. →Building a Global-Ready Ecosystem We’re living in an age where the entertainment industry is increasingly globalized, budgets face constant downward pressure, and AI is questioning authenticity and intention. Meanwhile, Georgia has carefully grown its creative infrastructure seemingly at the perfect time to meet those challenges head-on. Decades of effort have created an ecosystem with world-class facilities, diverse locations, and a robust community of talent and entrepreneurs, who are ready to seize the opportunities that this shift presents. →But here’s the real talk: Has the state prioritized this next step in the industry? In voiceover, momentum is common. Intention is rare. You can stay busy auditioning, upgrading gear, posting on socials, etc. But if you’re not clear on why you’re doing any of it, you’re just spinning your wheels in a very nice booth. Intention is what turns routine into training. It’s what separates a hopeful hobbyist from a working pro. When I step up to the mic, I ask: What does this script need from me? What story am I helping tell? How does this move my career forward? You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be deliberate. Voiceover isn’t about doing more. Thanks to tools like vMix, OBS, and compact capture cards, what used to require massive control rooms can now fit into smaller setups. As a broadcast engineer, it’s key to keep up with these evolving trends technology is moving fast, don’t get left behind!

Frequency response is NOT the most important measurement for a speaker's performance. There, I said it. ...And I can prove it to you. I just got finished testing a new $5,000 pair of speakers from Kali Audio. These speakers cost 5x more than their next series down, and 10x more than their most popular pair of studio monitors. But when it comes to frequency response, you could easily say that they measure exactly the same for all practical purposes. And yet, all three of their lines of speakers sound VERY different from one another, despite sharing common DNA—and a practically identical frequency response. So, what causes one speaker to outperform another? Why spend 5x or 10x as much on one set of speakers over the other, when their frequency response is the same?
