“Steve and I worked closely together as product managers at Google, mostly on the Go programming language but also across other parts of Google Cloud's developer experience program. During our time, Steve founded major strategic initiatives across several different products, most of which continue to pay dividends for Go and Google to this day. Not only is Steve incredibly gracious and kind-hearted, he is also among the most talented product managers I have met. His experience and ability to consider decisions holistically stand out: When there is an important decision to be made, Steve consistently brings important insights to the conversation that other senior leaders overlook. And he's right -- a lot. Knowing that Steve is involved in a project gives me tremendous confidence in that project's direction and likelihood to succeed. Steve does all this while making work fun, friendly, and rewarding. I emphatically recommend Steve to anyone looking for a strong product management leader; he is a real asset to any organization lucky enough to have him. I sincerely hope I, too, have the pleasure of working with him again one day soon.”

The module can initiate a sale transaction for a product presented on the webpage and cause the central server to complete the purchase and fulfillment. The module automatically updates the customer shopping cart and presents updated inventory availability. The website hosting the webpages with the module do not operate any back end transaction processing or order fulfillment.

Created by Steve Francia, and led by Bjørn Erik Pedersen it has grown from a specialized tool into one of the most widely adopted frameworks in the static web ecosystem. Its ability to render even the largest websites in milliseconds has made it an indispensable tool for individual developers and large-scale enterprises alike.
The project's impact is demonstrated by its adoption by some of the world's most prominent technology and media organizations. Notable users have migrated to Hugo to achieve superior performance, security, and a more streamlined content workflow. This includes major projects like:
Kubernetes: Migrated its official website and extensive documentation to Hugo to dramatically reduce build times and improve multilingual support.
1Password: Switched its documentation to Hugo for enhanced security and a more efficient publishing process, citing its preference for static sites for critical content.
Smashing Magazine: A leading resource for web professionals, Smashing Magazine famously moved its entire site to a Jamstack solution powered by Hugo to boost performance and improve its publishing workflow.
Cloudflare: Adopted Hugo for its developer documentation, signaling a shift from other popular static site generators to embrace Hugo's unparalleled build speed.
Hugo's remarkable performance and flexibility have made it the go-to choice for building a wide array of content-driven sites, from corporate and government platforms to technical documentation and high-traffic blogs. Its success is a testament to the power of open-source collaboration and a relentless focus on solving fundamental developer challenges.Other creatorsSee project -
