Sravani T liked thisToday, on Vanguard’s 51st anniversary, I published my annual letter to our investor-owners, highlighting the disciplined behavior they showed over the past year, and the progress their company made to give all investors a fair shake. Even with inflation and higher rates putting pressure on household budgets, many Vanguard 401(k) investors increased their contribution rate, lifting the average retirement savings rate to 12% of income. That is long-term thinking in action. I saw it in other moments, too. During tariff-related volatility last April, most Vanguard investors kept their portfolios unchanged, choosing patience over panic. For our part, our crew stayed focused on our mission to give all investors the best chance for investment success, which showed up in practical ways: lowering fees, strengthening fixed income, helping investors earn better yields on their savings, and widening access to advice and guidance aided by AI. The full letter shares what we learned from our investor-owners this year, and what we are doing next to advance the experiment Jack Bogle started over fifty years ago. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read it: https://bit.ly/4uhac8L

Sravani T liked thisSravani T liked thisWe are the problem. And we are the solution. The same hands that polluted rivers can clean them. The same minds that damaged ecosystems can rebuild them. The difference has never been power. It has been responsibility. In the video, every creature looks small compared to humans. That isn’t just scale. It’s influence. Our actions shape the world around us. Whether we admit it or not. The same truth exists in business and entrepreneurship. Companies create problems. Overconsumption. Waste. Short-term thinking. But the most powerful businesses are also the ones that solve the problems they helped create. Great entrepreneurs don’t just chase profit. They build systems that repair what is broken, improve what exists, and create value for the future. Every innovation begins with the same realization: The world has a problem. Someone needs to fix it. And more often than not, that “someone” is us. The question is not whether humans have the power to change the world. The question is what we decide to do with that power. “Progress begins the moment we stop blaming the world and start building the solution.” 🌍 #humans #selfgrowth #ai #earth #globalwarming #war #peace #nowar

Sravani T liked thisSravani T liked thisPlease help me find a job - I’ve been unemployed for too long (2.5 years). Applying to postings isn’t working and I’m not breaking this job market. Long-time recruiters I know say they have never seen a job market this bad in 30 years, including in the worst recessions. In my case it is in fact urgent because I’ve spent through my savings, got evicted and am living in my car. After posting this for months, I still don’t have a job but many people have said encouraging things and I have raised some money via a GoFundMe to survive in the near future (thanks to those people) but I also know it won’t last so I have to keep it going. (link at the end). Here’s the rest of my situation. I was laid off from my job at Google almost 2.5 years ago when there were a lot of layoffs. I keep ATS confirmation emails from job applications in a folder and at two years since the layoff, I had applied to 3700 jobs and emailed 2200 founders. I won’t do a new count. Bottom line, I'm getting nowhere. I DESPERATELY need a regular job (or monthly contract). It probably has to be a REFERRAL from you because of the hiring environment today. Also, FYI, my present job is just the very rare short term contract. Very rare. My background spans high-growth startups and tech giants, with a proven track record of placing specialized talent. I've placed people with all sorts of backgrounds including engineers, finance execs, marketing, artists and others. At Google I focused on security engineers from the FBI, CIA, etc. PLEASE mention me to your friends or hire me. Please. I’m going keep the GoFundMe going because after 2.5 years, I don’t know when this job market will loosen up. I would have preferred a job months ago but finding a job is not happening. https://lnkd.in/geY_6DPi (I will post this daily)

Sravani T liked thisSravani T liked thisYesterday, March 7th, I lost my beloved mother, my first mentor, my teacher, and my friend. In her final days, in the ICU, she was cared for by an extraordinary group of angels: nurses. Their compassion, patience, and quiet strength meant more to our family than words can fully capture. They cared not only for my mother, but for all of us who loved her. Nearly 89% of registered nurses are women. On this International Women’s Day, I want to pause and express my deepest gratitude to these remarkable professionals who show up every day with empathy, resilience, and humanity. Nursing is more than a profession; it is a calling that touches lives in the most profound moments. To the nurses who cared for my mother, and to the millions around the world who dedicate themselves to caring for others, thank you. Your work is extraordinary, and your compassion leaves a lasting imprint on the families you support. Today, as we celebrate women everywhere, I am especially grateful for the women who stand beside us in our most difficult and tender moments.

Sravani T liked thisSravani T liked this✨ India Trip Reflections: Innovation, Payments, and People ✨ During my recent visit, I had the privilege of spending time with our amazing teams—engaging in developer conversations, holding team sessions, and hosting a site-level townhall to share my vision, strategy, and goals with the broader organization. It was inspiring to witness innovation in action: demos, debates, and passionate discussions on automating technology processes and challenging the status quo on business offerings. At large, GenAI-powered SSDLC is becoming the norm, with even late adopters moving forward. I’m excited about what’s ahead. Opportunistically, I also took a short break to spend time with extended family. A reminder that sometimes a refresh is the best way to recharge. I’m now eager to get back to work, re-energized for what’s next. As part of a spiritual tour in northern India with my family, I saw firsthand how internet access, UPI, and value-added services like localized payment confirmation speakers are enabling commerce at roadside small businesses as well as five-star merchants. The diversity in consumer and business needs was evident, emphasizing the power of simplicity, access, and value-added services. At Visa, we live by the principle: “To uplift everyone, everywhere by being the best way to pay and be paid.” This vision encapsulates our purpose to unlock opportunities through digital payments for individuals, businesses, and economies worldwide. While convenient and accessible, Account-to-Account (A2A) payments will benefit significantly from robust risk and fraud management. This is precisely where Visa Protect Risk Solutions with its data and AI capabilities, is innovating through solutions like A2A Protect, Payment Passkeys etc. Excited about the future we are building, together. #Leadership #Innovation #GenAI #DigitalPayments #Visa #India #VisaProtect #VisaIdentitySolutions

Built over the last six months, this team is largely powered by young, passionate talent eager to learn, contribute, and innovate. I had the opportunity to host several roundtables with our developers—energizing conversations that spanned engineering tools, product vision, process automation, and the impact of generative AI. It was refreshing to hear bold ideas and fresh perspectives. With strong local leadership and a clear sense of purpose, I’m confident this team will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of identity solutions—helping us deliver on our promise of safe, secure, and seamless commerce. Equally valuable was the time spent connecting with peers and senior leaders across the organization. --- 1️⃣ First, let me ask you (important 👇) What exactly about Java feels confusing to you? For example: Is it “Java kya hota hai?” Or why people use Java? Or syntax / code samajh nahi aata? Or Java se job kaise milti hai? 👉 You can reply in Hindi / Hinglish / English. No wrong answer. --- Till you reply, I’ll start from absolute zero so your base is solid 👇 --- 2️⃣ Java ko 5-year-old style me samjho 🧸 🟢 Java kya hai? Java ek language hai jisse hum computer ko kaam bol kar karate hain. Jaise: Insaan → bolta hai Hindi / English Computer → samajhta hai Java (aur dusri languages) 💡 Computer ko directly bol nahi sakte Isliye hum Java jaise language use karte hain. --- 🏠 Daily Life Analogy (bahut simple) Socho: Tumhare paas ek robot hai 🤖 Robot kuch bhi khud se nahi karta Tum usko instructions dete ho Example: > “Gate kholo” “Light on karo” “Paani bharo” 🟢 Java = instructions likhne ka tarika 🟢 Computer = robot --- 3️⃣ Step-by-Step: Java ka kaam kaise hota hai? Step 1️⃣ Tum Java me likhte ho: > “Hello print karo” Step 2️⃣ Java usko computer-friendly banata hai Step 3️⃣ Computer bolta hai: > “Theek hai, main kar deta hoon” 📌 Matlab: Java = Tumhara message Computer = Kaam karne wala --- 4️⃣ Ab thoda real world se jodo 🌍 Java kaha use hoti hai? Socho tum daily kya use karte ho: 📱 Android Mobile Apps 🏦 Bank software (ATM, account, transactions) 🏢 Office software 🌐 Websites ka backend 🚆 Railway / airline systems 👉 In sab ke peeche Java chal rahi hoti hai --- 5️⃣ Job / Project angle (slowly introduce reality) Companies Java kyu pasand karti hain? Java strong hai 💪 Java secure hai 🔐 Java saalon tak chalti hai Java bade systems handle karti hai Isliye: Software Engineer Backend Developer Java Developer 💼 Jobs me Java ka heavy demand hai --- 6️⃣ Ab thoda sa technical word (sirf ek) 📘 🟡 Program kya hota hai? Program = instructions ka set Jaise: > 1. Computer on karo 2. App kholo 3. Data dikhao Java me hum in instructions ko program bolte hain. Bas itna hi abhi 👍 --- 7️⃣ Examples time 👇 🟢 Simple Example (baby level) System.out.println("Hello"); Iska matlab: > “Computer, screen par Hello likh do” Bas. Koi magic nahi ✨ --- 🟡 Thoda Advanced Example (but still easy) int a = 2; int b = 3; System.out.println(a + b); Iska matlab: a = 2 rakho b = 3 rakho dono ko jod kar dikha do Output: 👉 5 --- 8️⃣ Ab tumhari turn 🫵 (bahut important) 👉 Mujhe apne words me batao: Java kya hai? Java ka use kyu hota hai? Agar atak gaye: Koi problem nahi Main aur zyada simple bana dunga Naya example dunga 😄 --- 9️⃣ Quick Recap (yaad rakhne ke liye 🧠) 🔹 One-line definition Java ek language hai jisse hum computer ko kaam karna sikhate hain. 🔹 One analogy Java = robot ko instruction dene ka tarika 🔹 One practical use Android apps, bank software, websites banane me Java use hoti hai --- #shorts #linkedin #trending

Java Interview Quick Guide – Core Concepts to Revise Before Your Next Interview Preparing for a Java interview? Here’s a concise refresher of the most commonly asked questions every developer should know. 1. What is Java? Java is a high-level, object-oriented, platform-independent programming language known for its “Write Once, Run Anywhere” capability through the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). 2. Key Features of Java: Simple and Secure Object-Oriented Platform Independent (via JVM) Robust and Multithreaded High Performance (JIT Compiler) 3. Difference between JDK, JRE, and JVM: JDK: Development Kit (includes compiler, tools, and JRE) JRE: Runtime Environment (includes JVM and libraries) JVM: Executes Java bytecode (platform-dependent) 4. Four OOP Principles in Java: Encapsulation: Hides data within classes Inheritance: Enables reusability Polymorphism: Allows multiple forms (overloading and overriding) Abstraction: Hides implementation details 5. Difference between == and equals() == compares memory references equals() compares values or content 6. String Immutability in Java: Strings are immutable — once created, their value cannot be changed. Any modification creates a new String object in memory. 7. Difference between Array and ArrayList: - Array: Fixed size, stores primitives and objects - ArrayList: Dynamic size, stores only objects, part of the Collections Framework 8. Access Modifiers in Java: - public: Accessible from anywhere - protected: Within the package and subclasses - default: Within the same package - private: Within the same class only 9. What is Exception Handling? A mechanism to handle runtime errors and maintain application flow. Keywords: try, catch, finally, throw, throws 10. Checked vs Unchecked Exceptions: - Checked: Caught at compile-time (e.g., IOException) - Unchecked: Caught at runtime (e.g., NullPointerException) 11. Garbage Collection in Java: Automatic memory management that removes unused objects from the heap to free up space. 12. Overloading vs Overriding: - Overloading: Same method name, different parameters (Compile-time polymorphism) - Overriding: Subclass redefines a parent class method (Runtime polymorphism) These are foundational questions every Java developer should be ready to answer confidently. #Java #JavaInterview #CoreJava #BackendDevelopment #OOP #JavaBasics #CodingInterview #SoftwareEngineering

Getting an assessment mail is not easy for Java Developers. Most people think the challenge starts after the assessment. But the real struggle is getting one. Before a coding test ever reaches your inbox, your profile has already been filtered. By: • Java keywords • Role clarity • Relevant backend experience • Resume–JD alignment If you’re not receiving assessment mails, it’s usually not a skill problem. It’s a visibility problem. Recruiters don’t send assessments randomly. They send them to profiles that clearly say: “This Java Developer fits the role.” Clear title. Clear tech stack (Java, Spring Boot, Microservices). Clear impact. Once you receive an assessment mail, you’re already ahead of most applicants. That’s why: Profile positioning matters. Resume alignment matters. LinkedIn optimization matters. Because cracking the assessment is step two. Getting shortlisted is step one. 💭 Sent a connection request 👉 Comment "Assessment" 📩 I’ll share a short 4-minute video via DM explaining how we help our mentees get assessment calls. Most Java developers aren’t rejected. They’re just never discovered. #JavaDeveloper #JobSearch #LinkedInTips #CodingAssessment #CareerGrowth
