Sophia Lopez liked thisSophia Lopez liked thisSOFI BANK IS CHEATING. AND IT'S GENIUS. One Federal charter. Two instruments. Fully regulated. Distribution to tens of millions. On May 27, SoFi launched SoFiUSD (ticker: SOFID), the first stablecoin ever issued by a U.S. nationally chartered bank inside a consumer banking app. Live on Ethereum and Solana. Rolling out to 14.7M SoFi members. Redeemable 1:1 by a Fed chartered bank, ull picture some are not pricing in. SoFi has confirmed yield-bearing tokenized deposits are coming in weeks. Not a stablecoin. Bank money on a blockchain. FDIC-insured. Pays interest. Same wallet. Same app. Same charter. A “stablecoin” with yield? THE INSTITITIONAL FRAMEWORK AND DISTRIBUTION NETWORK. SoFi owns SoFi Bank N.A. (national charter and issuer), Galileo Financial Technologies (BaaS platform processing 133M+ enabled accounts), and Technisys (the cloud-native core banking software running banks and fintechs globally). Bullish (NYSE: BLSH), the institutional crypto exchange led by Tom Farley, was announced as a listing partner. May 5, Bullish announced a $4.2B acquisition of Equiniti, the transfer agent serving 70M+ shareholders and roughly half the FTSE 100. Issuance. Processing. Core banking software. An institutional crypto rail. On-chain shareholder registry post-close. Nobody else has it under one orbit. WHY THIS IS STRUCTURALLY SOUND. The GENIUS Act says a Permitted Payment Stablecoin Issuer (PPSI) cannot pay yield, cannot lend, cannot trade. By design. But the statute leaves tokenized bank deposits untouched. Banks can issue them. Non-banks cannot. Circle, Tether, and PayPal cannot ship the second product. They are not banks (yet). THE CLARITY ACT CONUNDRUM. The Tillis-Alsobrooks compromise bans yield “solely for holding” a stablecoin but allows narrow activity-based rewards. Issuers (Circle, SoFi) cannot pay yield. Unbundled platforms (Coinbase and Kraken) can pay activity-based rewards only, IF ADOPTED, and even the existing USDC rewards model is being legally contested. SoFi can't pay rewards on SoFiUSD because SoFi Bank and the SoFi app are affiliates. But they don’t need to. The tokenized deposit is real yield, real FDIC insurance, real interest. No contested legal theory required. THE MARKETS ARE STARTING TO SEE IT. SOFI literally was hammered this year, trading down 50% peak-to-trough. They report record quarterly net revenue of $1.1 Billion, record member and product growth at the end of April. Skeptics abound. Earlier last week it traded below $16. Then SoFiUSD launched. Three days later the stock rallied 22% off the May lows on volume 2.3x the average. Sometimes the news is the move. Sometimes the move is the news catching up. WHERE IS THE INDUSTRY GOING? JPM Coin. BlackRock BUIDL. Fidelity tokenized Treasury fund. NYSE building a 24/7/365 global tokenized exchange. Every major U.S. institution is moving toward tokenized money, tokenized securities, and on-chain settlement. Can you pick a Winner?

Sophia Lopez liked thisSophia Lopez liked thisEurope just told its own stablecoin issuers to stand down. On May 15 the ECB Governing Council rejected a proposal to ease liquidity-reserve requirements for private euro-stablecoins... citing risk that "stablecoin issuance could divert deposits from commercial banks and undermine monetary policy transmission." Instead the ECB is steering capital toward tokenised commercial-bank deposits — instruments that keep assets inside the regulated banking system and firmly under central oversight. The data shows why this matters: → Euro-stablecoins represent 0.3% of global supply but 38% of transaction volume → Circle's EURC sits at rank 20 globally with $2.1bn circulating supply → €13bn in euro-stablecoin-linked payments processed in Q1 2024... almost entirely on US-issued tokens For family offices and institutional allocators building exposure in GCC markets this creates a structural dependency. Private euro-stablecoins now face a regulatory glass ceiling... while MiCA still obliges 1:1 fiat reserves and cross-border issuance. The Commission's own paper from May 10 flagged the conflict. The ECB's stance wins. What this guarantees: dollar-stablecoins will continue to dominate European crypto-asset portfolios. Any private euro alternative will carry higher compliance costs, longer regulatory latency, and narrower liquidity windows. The digital euro pilots slated for 2029 won't fill the gap for years. If you're managing treasury operations or structuring venture exposure across Europe and the Gulf... your liquidity planning now has to assume continued FX exposure, regulatory drift risk, and a central-bank preference for instruments they can throttle. Are you building stablecoin exposure assuming policy continuity or preparing for jurisdictional fragmentation? 🏦 #stablecoins #digitalassets #blockchain #GCC #institutionalcapital #MiCA

Sophia Lopez liked thisSophia Lopez liked thisJust concluded a week and a half on the US West Coast and in Silicon Valley, meeting with our strategic partners and the ecosystem at the frontier of #AI. What stood out is how quickly this moment is evolving. The last six months have arguably been more transformational than the first two years after GPT. Model advancement is compounding, developer and colleague velocity is accelerating through intelligent tooling, and the gap between an idea and a deployed product is shrinking at a remarkable speed. AI agents are no longer a future concept - they are shaping the present. Also happened to be my first #Waymo ride - a fitting reminder of how quickly the future is arriving. In financial services the question is no longer whether AI will transform how we live, work and do banking. It’s whether we are moving with enough speed, clarity and courage to shape that transformation, rather than just respond to it. Exciting times ahead. #SiliconValley #Innovation #HSBC #futureofbanking

The Information has a great read for anyone around #AI and #AIDataCenters. That being the early, yet persistent, move from a # SaaS/user/seat pricing to #UsageBased pricing. As hard as this might be to apprecaite this actually good for the sector. The record breaking investment over the past years has the market finally forcing #financialdiscipline and actual #ROI focused #investments and #contracts. The biggest outstanding question is whether these changes can take effect in time to avoid the potential financial meltdown if contract breakage and revenue leaks happen from defaults. AI agents are here, and they’re changing everything. From copilots to autonomous agents, we’re entering a new era where AI doesn’t just assist, it orchestrates. For energy companies, this means faster operations, smarter decisions, and more time for innovation. From all the meetings I’ve had with customers in the past few months, I’d say this: start small with repetitive processes, then scale fast. Build with trust and governance from day one, because the pace of change is only accelerating. https://lnkd.in/eYfKk4yC

Quantum Solves Manufacturing Challenges In 2024, global supply chain disruptions grew by 38% year-on-year, driven by extreme weather, geopolitical tensions, and labor strikes. At the same time, cybersecurity threats against industrial organizations surged 87%, with manufacturing accounting for 69% of ransomware attacks. Yikes. At the end of 2025, the World Economic Forum and Accenture, produced a whitepaper titled, Quantum Technologies: Key Opportunities for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains. The organizations unpacked three key areas where quantum could have a strategic impact on industrial operations: 1. Quantum computing could lead to gains in optimization and simulation and material discovery, ultimately having an impact on manufacturing companies. 2. Quantum sensing could lead to ultra-precise measurements, predictive maintenance, and improved semiconductors and advanced manufacturing. 3. Quantum security and quantum communications could lead to post-quantum cryptography, secure networks, and regulatory compliance. What would you add? How do you envision quantum impacting the manufacturing industry? What needs to happen for us to see true innovation? And so it begins! If you already own the hyperscalers and energy, what’s next? Think suppliers and enablers. Companies like #Broadcom that support hyperscaler growth with custom silicon are the first layer. Or #Alphabet /#GOOGL, which has gone from laggard to market darling with its AI development and implementation strategy. New applications are coming, and new leaders will emerge. The key is to follow the AI value chain — from chips to infrastructure to software to energy – and those companies that are most aggressively employing AI to improve their business offerings. Tokens are the new compute currency. They seem cheap—fractions of a cent, a flicker of GPU time. But scale them across agents, retries, and escalations, and they explode into massive financial and environmental burdens. 💰 Pricing Reality (OpenAI API): GPT-4o mini: $0.15/M input, $0.60/M output GPT-4o: $2.50/M input, $10/M output GPT-4.5: $75/M input, $150/M output 📊 For a 1,500-input + 500-output interaction: Mini: ~$0.0005 Standard: ~$0.009 Premium: ~$0.19 At 1M daily users, that’s $15K/month (mini) to $5.6M/month (premium). Now multiply that by agent chains, multi-model routing, and retries—costs rise fast. 🌍 The Carbon Shadow: 100M tokens/day = 30–1,000 kWh, enough to power 10–30 homes/day. These emissions stay hidden in cloud dashboards—but they’re real, driven by compute-hungry infrastructure. Agentic AI must be lean by design—efficient, intentional, and accountable. 🔗 Learn more at leanagenticai.com #AgenticAI #LeanAI #GreenAI #TokenDiscipline #SustainableAI #FinOps #AIEfficiency #TechForGood

At #AppWorld2026 last week, one theme kept emerging in customer conversations: organizations are racing to adopt AI while managing infrastructure so complex that innovation stalls. Zeus Kerravala captures this perfectly in his SiliconANGLE & theCUBE piece: "The Age of AI is quickly becoming the Age of Complexity." He outlines three friction points holding back AI adoption and explores how platform convergence—bringing application delivery and security together—helps customers overcome what he calls the "complexity tax." We expect key topics on results calls to center around: (+/-) AI capex, tight computing supply vs. capital allocation: A central focus remains the contrast in AI hyperscaler strategies, i.e. Tencent's balanced approach vs. Alibaba’s "all-in" or zero-FCF capex approach, while focus has been on whether Alibaba will need to focus more on maximizing core cash flow generation to fund its multi-year growing AI capex (that now exceeds its annual group EBITA). (+) AI agents & cloud pricing/margin upside: With our estimate of Alibaba Cloud revenue acceleration to 40% (vs. GOOG/AWS of +63%/28%) on surging token demand, where Agentic AI is driving a step-function change in token consumption, report from our US team), attention is on growing cloud price power (despite CPU/memory cost push), the potential shift in lock-in of China enterprise customers from pay-as-you-go to multi-year MaaS contracts) with its new Alibaba Token Hub Wukong enterprise platform. On the consumer front, the proliferation of AI assistants remains a critical battleground; we are closely watching how Tencent could differentiate its upcoming Weixin app-level AI agent vs. upcoming OS-level assistants (esp. from the second generation Doubao Phone Assistant). (-) Defending core commerce and local services: Competition remains fierce across eCommerce and local services ecosystems. We expect muted Customer Management Revenue (CMR) growth for Alibaba (+1% yoy) amid new merchant incentive policies, while Meituan faces continued in-store competition from Douyin/Doushengsheng. Key debates center on Meituan's ability to defend its GTV leadership/traffic entry against Douyin and emerging AI super entry-points longer-term, as well as PDD's Temu in navigating evolving Europe tariff policies with increased mix of local warehouses. (+/-) Quick commerce potential faster UE improvement vs. new investment cycles: Focuses are on potential for faster loss narrowing pace of Meituan food delivery/Alibaba quick commerce into 2Q26 and over 2027-28E on the back of government oversight/Alibaba’s further re-focus, while monitoring possibilities of step-up in Meituan's Keeta expansion in LatAm and JD's Joybuy rollout in Europe. The pace of international investment ramp-up vs. food delivery unit economics (UE) improvement will be pivotal in marking a floor for 2H earnings rebound yoy for China transaction platforms into 2H26.

TODAYS HOT TAKE The industrial AI conversation has shifted from experimentation to operations. Siemens' latest announcements reflect a broader pattern: buyers want AI that fits into real workflows, not standalone demos. This reinforces something we see across healthcare, real estate, and services. The question is no longer "can AI do this?" but "how reliably will it run in production?" For operations leaders, the implication is clear: define the process bottleneck first, then scope the automation. What would change in your business if you treated AI adoption as an operations initiative rather than a technology project? #AI #IndustrialAI #BusinessOperations #DigitalTransformation #HotTake https://lnkd.in/ghwKpsb3

THESIS: OpenAI's expectation for 70% revenue growth through 2030 from its $13 billion run-rate hinges on its large language models becoming the intelligence layer for applications across categories including CRM, ERP, supply chain and engineering. Recent alliances with Oracle, Nvidia and Broadcom highlight its focus on cloud capacity expansion and GPU supply, while reducing reliance on Microsoft. Given OpenAI's aggressive infrastructure build-out, we believe it will leverage competitive pricing to boost consumption and sustain its market-share lead over Anthropic, Google Gemini and Meta.
