Way too many Webflow devs are out here trashing WordPress. And look, I run a Webflow agency - so yeah, I have skin in the game. But this needs to be said. Both tools are genuinely great. Stop the BS. I get it. You want to hype up Webflow because that's how you pay your bills. I do the same thing. But when you're telling people WordPress is "outdated" or "bad" just to push Webflow? That's just not honest, sorry. Let's be real for a second: → WordPress has massive market share for a reason → Webflow isn't perfect either → You can build two identical, high-quality sites with both platforms → It's not about the tool - it's about who's using it A skilled WordPress dev will run circles around a mediocre Webflow dev. Here's what actually matters: finding the right person who knows their tool inside and out. Whether that's Webflow, WordPress, or whatever else. Don't let these "experts" trick you into thinking one is better than another. They both have their place. They both have their pros and cons. Simple analogy: WordPress = buying parts and building your own computer. More control, more power, but you need to know what you're doing Webflow = buying a Mac. Cleaner experience, easier to use, but you're limited to what they give you --- Choose based on your needs, your budget, and who you're working with. Not based on someone's Twitter hot take trying to get engagement.

I'm late to this party 😀 But I'm pretty impressed with Codex 😁 I connect Codex to Ahrefs and Search Console APIs, and it gives some pretty usable suggestions. Let's keep on testing.

meta's crawler is creating a mini-havoc in the Magento eCommerce world... We are seeing across websites, meta crawler has gone rogue and merchants and SEO dont know what to do! The characteristic - it runs for days - crawling all permutations of filter urls - Does not send an accept-encoding header ... so no zip of content AWS byte transfer bills are going through the roof - $30+ a day just for data transfer, not counting resource related costs. The user agent "meta-externalagent/1.1 (+https://lnkd.in/gtJAJAEN)" Which is used for "The Meta-ExternalAgent crawler crawls the web for use cases such as training foundation AI models or improving products by indexing content directly." Any SEO / AEO experts can throw light? I am advising to block atleast by robots.txt, especially if you have "SEO friendly" layered navigation links.

I’ve been building Stackra to be more platform aware, and dug up enough data to make complete checklists for WordPress , Wix , and Shopify . There’s key takeaways for each, even learned a few on mine. Went from a 9.6 second mobile load time to sub 3s, even with adding an image. Not too shabby! It’s something a lot of small business owners want, but don’t know where to look for or even start. This is it. Free small business SEO checklists. Linkydink hates URLs, so they are in the comments. WordPress VIP is offering a new "Advanced Professional WordPress Developer Certification". I know a lot of my WordPress friends are skeptical. That's OK. We're not the target audience. There's some value in certification, based on my experience in the Drupal world with Acquia. We taught people to meet to pass the Acquia exams. These certifications are most helpful if Automattic wants to attract the big consultancies like Accenture, PwC, Capgemini etc into the ecosystem. That was definitely Acquia's goal. Here's why certification helps: 1. These big companies don't know the ecosystem well enough to hire staff one-by-one, plus that just doesn't scale. They need some way to set a minimum standard when hiring ten, fifty, or hundred people. 2. Developers inside these companies like to feel there's some kind of career pathway / validation if they choose a WordPress path. There might be other use-cases too, but that was by far the most common. The certification link is in the comments:

I’ve been digging through thousands of issues around coding agents and CLIs lately — and one trend keeps surfacing. Developers are asking for standardization. They don’t want to be locked into one IDE or vendor. They want to work in different environments, switching between agents for different tasks — freely. Two early efforts already try to define that future: 1/ agents.md — a shared spec for guiding coding agents. 2/ Agent Client Protocol (ACP) — a standard communication layer between code editors and AI agents. In one of the Claude Code issues with 1000+ reactions, a user writes: “Codex, Amp, Cursor, and others are starting to standardise around AGENTS.md … By contrast, CLAUDE.md feels too specific to Claude Code. Most web development agencies will tell you about their biggest project. I'd rather tell you that 70% of our clients stay with us for more than 5 years. Most businesses hire a developer, build a website, and move on. Maybe they come back in 3 years for a redesign. But when your website is actually business-critical (as in, “if this breaks we lose money critical”), you don't want a vendor. You want a partner who knows your system, understands your business, and shows up reliably. We've worked with clients who handle complex configurators, custom quoting systems, advanced product catalogs. The kind of websites where "just rebuild it" isn't an option. They stay because we make reliability boring. No drama. No surprises. Just steady improvements and someone who answers when they need us. If your website is critical to your business, your developer relationship should be too.

Down (matters less than 2 years ago): - Exact-match business names - Homepage backlinks alone - Review count by itself Up (the real movers right now): - Behavioral signals. Google notices when 7 of 10 people who search "dentist Cedar City" click your listing instead of the competition. - Q&A section with seeded answers. Empty Q&A means you're invisible to long-tail queries. - Service-area specificity. One page per city, not "we serve all of Utah." - Citation freshness. NAP updated in the last 12 months, not 2019. - GBP posts as a rhythm. Weekly, not "we'll do it when we remember." The boring stuff is what compounds. Most Utah businesses I audit have 3 of these broken at once. Fix them for 90 days. Watch the leads come back. What's the last GBP signal you actually optimized?
