Spoke with a prospect whose 2026 software budget is already locked. They just got more freight awarded from an enterprise shipper. Big volume, hourly X6s, strict milestone SLAs. But their current stack can’t hit the requirements. The VP said: “We scoped next year’s spend before this deal closed. There’s not a lot of room to move.” Now the team’s stuck choosing between overextending ops or adding headcount to smooth over the gaps. Same pattern, same constraints. Just higher stakes. The teams making progress aren’t throwing bodies at the problem. The next generation of brokerages is rethinking the stack to actually meet these demands. If your visibility tools can’t support tighter SLAs without more headcount, it’s not a platform. It’s a cost center.

We saved a client $1.7M. In hindsight, the way we did it seemed obvious, but it wasn’t at the time.. A large retailer we work with was shipping millions of boxes every year. This meant 10s of millions spent on shipping. The company asked us, “What if we flagged sweaters & other soft goods as non-rigid?” So we added one rule to their API request, and we were able to reduce 10% of cubic volume across all shipments. The result: $1.7M saved in one year. All because the customer noticed sweaters were squishy.

A founder said to me this week: “I don’t want to get good at supply chain.” And I loved that. Because no founder ever scaled to $10M+ ARR by being really good at packing boxes. Think about some of the biggest DTC darlings of the last decade: TUSHY - hellotushy.com → 3–10 business day delivery Allbirds → 7–12 days at launch (6-8 Business days now) MeUndies → 7+ days back in the early subscription era Nobody bought from these brands because their logistics were world-class. They bought because the brand was. And honestly, I think the “Amazon effect” is overstated. If you offer 2-day shipping for $5 extra at checkout, how many customers actually take it? I’d bet under 10%. Because speed isn’t the whole game. Your supply chain should be supporting your brand: Better product launches Smarter bets on inventory Keeping winners in stock Producing smaller runs of what isn’t working Customers will forgive “not the fastest” They won’t forgive forgettable.

In response to a recent misleading post, I wanted to call out misinformation in our industry and explain how Amazon's Inbound Process actually works: Amazon incentivizes sellers to inbound product on the East Coast because of Amazon’s trailer pool network and where they need trailers. By incentivizing sellers to ingest product to the east coast, it allows Amazon to use their trailers to move the product west-bound (where there is a shortage of trailers). Inbounding on the west coast hurts Amazon’s trailer pool network as they then have to use trailers to move product east, furthering the shortage of trailers on the West Coast. Not to mention the US population density on the East Coast is far greater than that of the West Coast. Also, contrary to a recent post, a Seller's ship from location does not dictate the 5 regional IXD’s Amazon still wants product inbounded to. That ended almost 2 years ago when Amazon began regionalizing their Inbound Cross Dock network. Amazon doesn't care where you are shipping from, they want product where they want product. Let me tell you why I'm in an "unsexy" industry that most e-com founders try to avoid thinking about. 3PLs (third-party logistics companies) have earned a negative reputation in the DTC space. The reasons why: - Unclear invoices - Unresponsive partners - Hidden fees that brands discover too late The horror stories are real. So I’m motivated to change the way people view 3PLs and prove that logistics partners can be trusted. When I look at my industry, I see the same pattern that creates distrust: - Companies that aren't transparent about pricing - Warehouse partners who disappear when things get complex - Fulfillment centers that can't scale with growing brands What gets me up in the morning is changing this narrative, being one of the good guys. It's why we've been able to keep our dream client from startup all the way to $200M in yearly revenue. The e-commerce founders I work with don't want to think about logistics. They want to focus on marketing, product, and growth. That's exactly how it should be. But they can only do that when they have a 3PL they actually trust. I’ve seen one simple freight network enhancement help brands grow AOV and sales on DTC, boost CSAT, and reduce damages and delays across both LTL and parcel. We call it a FlowSkip. And it’s one of the cleanest high impact freight moves you can make, and more shippers should be running it - even if it’s not with Warp. Here's the scenario where it could make sense for you: You're outbounding LTL and parcel from the same FC/DC. You have FDX/UPS/Ontrac/ Veho picking up daily. And you have ODFL/Arc best/XPO picking up daily too. A lot of times, that parcel and LTL volume is heading to the same destination markets. So what if went on the same truck? You can zone skip and bypass all those sort center and terminal consolidation stops where your freight gets damaged and delayed. Here's how we do it: 1. Pickup: We send a truck to your facility. You load parcel volume at the front, LTL has Warp labels applied and is loaded at the back. 2.
