We’re seeing three emerging trends in K–12 Curriculum & Education Three themes are shaping the future of K–12: 🔹 AI-Driven & Personalized Learning – Adaptive tools, generative AI, and analytics are tailoring instruction and building AI literacy. 🔹 Competency & Skills-Based Learning – A shift from memorization to critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and real-world application. 🔹 Well-Being, Equity & Recovery – Renewed focus on SEL, mental health, unfinished learning, and inclusive curricula. Together, these trends point to a more personalized, skills-oriented, and equitable K–12 experience. Are you exploring ways to bring these into the learning experiences you design? Please reach out to SRM if there’s anything we can do to help as your organization moves forward. #K12 #EducationTrends #EdTech #Curriculum #StudentSuccess

💡 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵💡 I really enjoyed this GovTech article (linked in comments) — “𝙀𝙙𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠: 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙀𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙀𝙙-𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝 𝙏𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨, 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨” — which highlights how districts are taking a more intentional approach to evaluating technology partners. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 🔹 Does this align with our instructional goals and student outcomes? 🔹 Can we measure real impact and ROI? 🔹 Do our partners truly understand our educators and communities? As someone who works closely with district leaders across the Northeast, this shift really resonates. The focus on alignment, accountability, and evidence of impact is exactly where EdTech needs to be heading. One place leadership teams underestimate change management in EdTech: They assume understanding equals adoption. This shows up every time a new system rolls out. “We trained the staff.” “The workflow makes sense.” “The value is obvious.” But adoption doesn’t fail because people don’t get the software. It fails because leaders underestimate capacity. Educators are quietly asking: Where does this fit in my day? What gets replaced because this exists? What happens if I don’t use it exactly right? If leadership doesn’t answer those questions, the system becomes “optional”, no matter how good the tech is. The strongest EdTech leaders don’t just launch software. They design for clarity, safety, and real-world use. That’s how systems actually scale in education.

"The Christensen Institute proposes ways to foster productive partnerships between educators and technologists, such as by businesses embracing models that prioritize ed-tech partnerships, by fostering collaboration and shared language, by using research-based teaching practices to guide technology development, and by testing design assumptions in authentic educational settings." https://lnkd.in/g7QF49R8

Higher ed has more student data than ever. But data alone doesn’t move the needle — activation does. When institutions move beyond static dashboards and start using individual-level insight, they can identify risk earlier, personalize engagement, and make smarter decisions across the student lifecycle. One emerging approach: the student digital twin — a dynamic profile that helps institutions understand and support each student in real time. The future of higher ed won’t belong to the institutions with the most data. It will belong to the ones that activate it. Qubits - Computer Science… • 1K followers
Years ago, my colleague and friend, Christopher "C. J." Thompson, PhD, and I led a workshop on something we called The Seven Deadly Sins of Science Teaching. It was a simple but powerful (and fun) framework for naming those moments when our own instincts as teachers can unintentionally interrupt the natural flow of discovery, reasoning, and sense-making in the classroom. I hadn’t thought about that framework in quite some time. But as I began preparing for this upcoming webinar with Cengage School and Qubits Learning : K–12 Computer Science & AI, it came back to me in a new way. Nearly every time we talk with schools about expanding computer science, the same concern comes up: teacher confidence. And more often than not, that concern stems from a perceived lack of subject-matter expertise. That question got me thinking: What if the non-expert actually has an advantage in the computer science classroom? In this session, I’ll revisit the idea of the Seven Deadly Sins—this time through the lens of computer science instruction. It’s a chance to honor earlier work that shaped my thinking while also engaging with the very real challenges schools face as they bring a relatively new discipline into their classrooms. If this is a question you’ve wrestled with in your own work, I hope you’ll join the conversation. Registration information is provided in the original post.

This is the moment edtech evolves. 🚀 Renaissance Intelligence introduces a bold, NEW category in education technology built to truly amplify impact for educators and learners. This is not just another AI feature. It is something entirely different. An intentional, trusted, and responsibly developed intelligence designed with educators at the center. Built to support and elevate teaching, never replace it, because human connection will always matter most. 🤝 At its core, this launch flips the script. Education should adapt to learners, NOT force learners to adapt to systems. Renaissance Intelligence meets students and teachers where they are, delivering meaningful insights while keeping people, not technology, at the heart of the experience. Developed with privacy, safety, and trust as foundational principles, this is what responsible innovation in education looks like. Excited to see the impact this will have in classrooms everywhere.
