Reported, now fixed . 2. docs.base.org Faucets → Ponzifun Faucet links to testnet.ponzi.fun active SSL warning + 404 error live right now Faucet had been inactive for months, docs never updated , it’s solved now perhaps after my X post this overshadows baseposting.com incident where someone issued a ca ,ppl lost $145k not from a hack from a misconfiguration. Someone exploited a config error to post a CA on baseposting official web. Users trusted the domain. That was enough. Small config errors. Real consequences.

Every Monday, AllScale breaks down the biggest moves in stablecoins. This week: JPMorgan’s 42% surge, Tether’s $1T dreams, Base calls for non-USD coins, and Stripe turns stablecoin issuer. Stablecoins have doubled since early 2024, now topping $290B. This is proof that the “crypto dollar” is becoming global cash. JPMorgan’s 42% YTD spike shows banks are circling back, while the U.S. GENIUS Act tightens yield rules just as regulators realize they can’t stop what’s already gone borderless. Tether’s Paolo Ardoino wants $1T in 3–5 years and just teamed with Rumble to push U.S.-only USAT. Deutsche Börse and Circle are embedding USDC and EURC into Europe’s market plumbing, making stablecoins look more like settlement infrastructure than DeFi toys. Then there’s Stripe’s Open Issuance which allows you to build your own stablecoin with a few lines of code. Phantom turned its wallet into a money app, and Paxos’ privacy play with Aleo hints at the next big frontier: encrypted stable payments. The line between fintech and stablecoin is vanishing. Centralized exchanges gate-keeping listings based on social media followers is one of the worst things happening in crypto right now. One of our clients faced this a couple weeks ago. When a CEX evaluates a project for listing, "community size" often just means how many followers do you have on X, Telegram, Discord? Not on-chain activity. Not TVL. Not code commits. Not unique wallets. Followers. What actually happens when follower count becomes a listing gate: 1. Projects with massive hype and paper-thin fundamentals sail through. MANTRA's $OM had a $6B market cap with just $4M in TVL before it crashed 90% in two hours in April 2025. It was listed on every major CEX. The hype was there. The fundamentals weren't. And we also saw the latest $RAVE event unfold just days ago. 2. Meanwhile, projects that are heads-down building - shipping code, growing real on-chain usage get rejected because their X account has 12K followers instead of 100K. 3. And the most predictable outcome of all? Projects start buying followers. A dappGambl investigation found that up to 10% of followers on major crypto Twitter accounts are fake. Shiba Inu's official account alone had ~80K fake followers. Avalanche at 8%. Polygon at 7.5%. Independent studies estimate that 9-15% of all X accounts are bots. In crypto-specific conversations, that number can hit 15-44%. In an industry where trust is already difficult to build, bots just add to the problems. The real question CEXs should be asking: How many unique active wallets does this project have? What's the on-chain transaction volume? Is the TVL real or farmed? What does the smart contract audit look like? What's the vesting schedule? Who holds the top wallets? These are hard metrics. They're transparent. They're on-chain verifiable. They can't be bought for $80 on a follower farm. Social media presence matters for awareness, sure. But making it a primary listing criteria is like hiring engineers based on their Instagram following. We need to stop rewarding vanity metrics and start rewarding substance.

JPMorgan just filed JLTXX, an Ethereum-based tokenized government money-market fund. The mint and burn happens on Ethereum mainnet, settled through Kinexys. For context: Kinexys just disclosed $1.5 trillion in cumulative notional, $2 billion in average daily transaction volume, and 10x year-over-year payment transaction growth across five continents. For seven years, JPMorgan's tokenization story was Onyx. Permissioned chain inside the bank. JPM Coin settling between institutional counterparties. The bank never said the word "ethereum" in any of it. JLTXX is the first money-market fund the bank is launching that is native to a public chain. ERC-20 standard, Ethereum mainnet, Kinexys settlement rail. The Onyx wall did not get torn down. It got bypassed. This matters because Treasury teams who still assume "JPMorgan = Onyx = permissioned only" are about to mis-architect their tokenization stack for the next 18 months. The bank now offers two paths in parallel: Onyx: permissioned, bank-controlled validators, institutional counterparties only. JLTXX: public Ethereum, ERC-20 token, settlement through Kinexys. If you are building 2026 reserve plumbing, four procurement questions will save you a re-architecture later: 1. Does our liquidity policy require permissioned-chain settlement, or are we cleared for public chains? 2. Is the tokenized fund native to Ethereum or wrapped through a custodian? 3. Who is the transfer agent on the share class, and what record-of-truth do they maintain? 4. What is the settlement-finality SLA in the operating agreement vs the chain's economic finality? Where I might be wrong: JLTXX might be a regulatory experiment that gets pulled back inside Onyx within a year. But the size of Kinexys at $1.5T tells me the public-chain path is now load-bearing. Institutional allocators don't underwrite DeFi risk after exploits happen. They evaluate it before capital flows. The challenge: 90% of exploited smart contracts were previously audited. Balancer was audited. $121M lost. Cork was audited. $12M lost. 1inch was audited. $5M lost. The audit-only model has been the industry standard - but it's incomplete. Manual audits analyze frozen code at a point in time. What's needed is proactive security evaluation during development. These are still mostly done in-house, ripe for automation + tokenization because they scream for liquidity, instant settlement, and fractional access without handing control to outsourcers. RWA edge hits hardest here: tokenize fund shares for real secondary markets, or turn procurement contracts into tradable RWAs. Margins stay fat because clients keep it internal until we make it autopilot-smart.

DeFi manages billions of dollars. But when something goes wrong, the ecosystem has no reliable mechanism to fix it. This week's events at Aave illustrate the point. An attacker exploited a vulnerability in KelpDAO's cross-chain bridge, minted $292 million in unbacked tokens, and used them as collateral on Aave to borrow nearly $200 million in ETH. Over $6 billion in deposits fled the protocol in under 24 hours. Nobody hacked Aave: a bridge failed somewhere else and the damage rolled downhill. There was no arbitrator, no legitimate forum to resolve who bears the loss or who is accountable. Just code executing, and people absorbing the consequences. I'm putting the finishing touches on a chapter on decentralised justice and DeFi, written for a major academic publication on DeFi law. The central argument: decentralised justice is not just an alternative dispute resolution tool. It is the institutional layer that DeFi is missing in order to function as real financial infrastructure. A world where transactions happen in real time, between autonomous agents, across borders that no regulator can police, requires adjudication mechanisms that share that same architecture: global, permissionless and natively integrated with smart contracts. As at every frontier in economic history, private governance arrives first. We saw it with the medieval lex mercatoria, with the guilds that preceded commercial law and with joint-stock companies in the eighteenth century. The question is not whether these institutions will emerge. It is whether they will be well designed. That is the work. ⚖️

These instruments are attracting serious institutional attention by offering stable returns through DeFi protocols and real-world assets. Bitcoin and yield-bearing stablecoins serve fundamentally different purposes in a portfolio. Bitcoin functions as digital gold—a store of value with asymmetric growth potential. Stablecoins provide predictable yield while maintaining dollar pegs, making them attractive for income-focused allocations. The regulatory landscape continues evolving unevenly. The majority of partners that we are integrating on Amadeus Protocol are either institutional crypto or trading platforms. One thing we keep seeing in conversations with partner users is that there's no shortage of defi or financial products, but that the access is lacking and that it impacts onboarding. The path from interest to action is too complex. It's a lot to ask from users to under what's possible, manage risk, approve the action, and execute correctly. Embedded agents are a fantastic option to help users move from “what can I do here?” to “help me do this now and later” directly inside the a partner app.
