It was an incredible three days of deep-dive discussions and high-energy brainstorming with the product teams and fellow MVPs from all over the globe. The experience was non-stop inspiration from morning till night (also busy partying). I was blown away by the sheer passion of this global community. While women are still a minority in the tech space, attending a meetup for our powerful female MVPs was a major highlight! I left feeling so empowered by everyone’s amazing contributions. I’m already looking forward to next year and feeling more motivated than ever to level up my English skills! Thanks for all who shared insights and talked with me! see you next year in Redmond!❤️🔥💋💋

Oz du Soleil reacted on thisOz du Soleil reacted on thisThere's been a huge shift in the last few months in how useful Copilot and Claude in Excel have become and these features are only going to become more useful as their reliability and first pass success rate increases. But... there's a responsibility in Finance not to get distracted by the overhyped promises and rather focus on the repeatable proven solutions that make a day to day difference in efficiency and accuracy. Anecdotally around 15% of heavy Excel users are aware of Power Query ( a viewpoint gained over 10 years from our own consulting and training experience at Access Analytic and from discussing the topic for many years with many others in the same field - please comment if you agree / disagree ) Many of the "wins" promised by AI are automation / time savers that Power Query already delivers, and has done so for over 10 years. Are Finance Teams jumping into AI without any knowledge of Power Query? Have finance teams received Copilot training but never Excel training, or if it was Excel training was Power Query covered? Is AI sometimes promoted as solving problems that are already solved? Would love to hear the thoughts of others on this.

See projectA nonprofit needed a system for tracking incoming and outgoing donations. They receive a lot of household items like clocks, chairs, bed sheets, etc. And they're used in several dozen assisted living units.
The organization had a low budget thus, a true database wasn't an option.
In Excel I was able to build an app that has a form for Incoming donations, a form for Outgoing donations, and storage for the transaction histories.
Some Requirements:
- Tracking of who…A nonprofit needed a system for tracking incoming and outgoing donations. They receive a lot of household items like clocks, chairs, bed sheets, etc. And they're used in several dozen assisted living units.
The organization had a low budget thus, a true database wasn't an option.
In Excel I was able to build an app that has a form for Incoming donations, a form for Outgoing donations, and storage for the transaction histories.
Some Requirements:
- Tracking of who processed each transaction
- Preventing users from requesting items that don't exist (e.g., I can't request 5 chairs if only 2 are in inventory.)
- The app won't accept incomplete information (e.g., incoming donations won't be accepted without an item name, category, quantity, date donated and user name.)
- Overall protections so that the formulas can't be written over. -
Stock & Mutual Fund Information Retrieval App

This app is designed with a Buy and a Sale component. The user can load stock or mutual fund tickers to retrieve real time stock quotes. If a person is considering sale of a stock, they can load the approximate purchase date and the app will retrieve the closing price of that day. In the case that the user chooses a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, the app chooses a price closest to the date that was input.
The app can accept up to 25 tickers at once.
