Like all happy projects my monolith was a mess :-) First, it was the painful disentanglement of services, mainly company level knowledge -> valuation models vs analytics, user management, marketing/ops capabilities etc... Then it was about becoming stateless. I had to make decisions on where/which data will live - I went for cloud storage for core knowledge-graph (the 120+ questions we interrogate each company on); and firebase-store for everything derived that hits the front end. The project was phased: monolith -> multiservice local compute / local storage -> multi service local compute / cloud storage -> multi service cloud Obviously couldn't have done anything without Opus :-) Next up, hitting 3000 companies :-) and then moving to event-based triggering (code ready, itching to roll out!) Let's go 🚀🚀🚀

Muhammad Younis liked thisMuhammad Younis liked thisThree months into building AIDAChip Inc. The biggest learning so far: early-stage startups run on conviction — in the idea and in the people. The most rewarding part has been the community that’s joined this journey as partners, advisors, and investors — a diverse group of founders, operators, and managers who’ve shipped silicon, built EDA tools, and scaled AI systems at the leading tech organizations and hyperscalers. I’m humbled by their conviction that we’ll build something exceptional at AIDAChip. That trust is the greatest gift a founder can receive. Grateful for every conversation, every piece of feedback, and every introduction. .

Muhammad Younis liked thisMuhammad Younis liked thisUpScrolled Hits No. 1: A "Spoke" Rebellion in the Hub Economy. I was discussing the #HBR "Managing Our Hub Economy" article with my #strategy students last week, analyzing how a few digital superpowers now control the essential bottlenecks of our global economy. Then, today’s headlines provided the perfect case study. Following the recent U.S. takeover of TikTok, we have seen a massive surge in users migrating to UpScrolled. This fledgling social network reached #1 on the App Store overnight, with 2.5 million users. Why does this matter? In their research, #HBS professors Marco Iansiti and Karim Lakhani warn of a "digital domino effect", where Hub firms leverage their network scale to "re-architect" entire industries, capturing a disproportionate share of value and threatening strategic sovereignty. When power is locked in the hands of a few, we lose transparency, fairness, and the right to speak freely without being "shadowbanned" by opaque algorithms. #UpScrolled is seeing success because it’s pitching a different model: 1. No Shadowbanning: A commitment to transparency where reach is earned, not throttled by hidden agendas. 2. Algorithmic Fairness: Moving away from addictive "black-box" AI toward user-driven, chronological feeds. 3. Strategic Sovereignty: Returning control to the creators, communities, and small businesses that make these platforms valuable in the first place. Strategic Sovereignty is the difference between being a partner and being a tenant. Every organization must find ways to maintain its independence. But the power isn't just with the firms; it’s with us. It’s time we look for alternatives that align with our values rather than just our habits. We need to break free from the shackles of platforms that exercise too much control over our data, our brains, our subconscious, and our discourse. Whether it’s UpScrolled or other decentralized protocols, we have a rare opening to champion platforms that prioritize social responsibility. The 'Hub' only has power because we, the users, continue to grant it. UpScrolled was founded by Issam Hijazi, a Palestinian-Australian technologist who promises no censorship and no billionaires. The platform went from 150,000 users to over 2.5 million in just a few days, say reports from TRT World. #HubEconomy #DigitalStrategy #UpScrolled #DataPrivacy #TechEthics #TikTokTakeover

Muhammad Younis liked thisMuhammad Younis liked thisHow do I make money using Fortusight Confession: Warren Buffet is in every corner of my app, its built and entirely designed to enable his investment approach. You heard: "a high quality predictable company, with good management at a reasonable price" In Fortusight: I look for companies that have (1) high expected returns (anything above 7%) (2) management aligned to shareholders (rating 3+) and (3) a strong competitive advantage (moat of 3+) (4) risk lower than 3 "We are greedy when others are fearful, and fearful when others are greedy" After buying the portfolio view is what I look at daily - and is my best friend, as company prices go up the expected return will go down and that's a good time to move out of them into other companies that have good expected returns. When prices go down, if the company's business is still intact, expected returns will go up - and I hold on to them until the market rerates them into the right place. This is in stark difference with your broker's portfolio view which is encouraging you to panic-sell when prices go down, and to buy more when prices go up. the Intel Corporation is laying off hundreds of engineers in California, including chip designers and architects, while shutting down its automotive chip division to reduce costs and focus on core operations. The company will eliminate around 107 jobs at its Santa Clara headquarters starting July 15. These include engineers, architects, and managers working on CPU, GPU, and cloud products. Affected employees will receive notice periods and severance packages. Intel is also shutting down its automotive chip division, mainly based in Germany. The team, once focused on software-defined vehicle platforms, is being disbanded to sharpen Intel’s focus on client and data center products. Tan has emphasized flattening management and prioritizing efficiency. He criticized a culture where leadership was measured by team size and announced that future success will be judged by impact, not headcount. Intel is also outsourcing parts of its marketing to Accenture, using AI-driven solutions. 𝗧𝗼 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻 ➖ "𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗪𝗮𝗿" 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 I just finished Chris Miller’s Chip War, and it hit differently when you’ve spent years chasing timing closure, debugging DRCs, or optimizing for PPA. We often see our work as purely technical, but this book reframes it entirely. It reminds us that we’re not just designing circuits; we’re building the foundation of global power. 🌍 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 In a world increasingly reliant on technology, the importance of semiconductors cannot be overstated. Every smartphone, car, satellite, and defense system depends on these tiny pieces of silicon the invisible engines driving our digital age. After diving deep into Chris Miller's "Chip War," I've come to realize: whoever controls chip manufacturing controls the future. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗢𝗳 Two companies. Two countries (Netherlands & Taiwan). One irreplaceable partnership. Without ASML's $350 million EUV lithography machines the most complex devices ever built advanced chips simply cannot exist. Only one company manufactures them. Without TSMC's manufacturing mastery, those machines are useless. Only one company can turn silicon into 3nm miracles at scale. Here's the reality: Every AI breakthrough, every smartphone, every advanced weapon system passes through these two companies. Not Google. Not Apple. Not even America or China can bypass them. 90%+ of the world’s advanced logic chips (<7nm) come from a single company on a single island. the quiet powerhouse that fabricates world’s most advanced chips. Whether your design’s at 5nm, 3nm, or the upcoming 2nm GAA odds are, it’s going to TSMC. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 India’s story feels different this time: 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 (Micron ATMP, Tower partnership, Tata proposals) 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 is already World Class 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 is deep we just need manufacturing scale This could redefine local tape outs, reduce timezone bottlenecks, and open global opportunities from Indian soil. India's immediate success is not about competing with TSMC at the 2nm edge. It is about establishing resilient domestic capacity in crucial mature and specialty nodes for automotive, power, communications and industry automation. which currently accounts for the bulk of India’s import demand while simultaneously investing heavily in the R&D and talent needed to close the advanced node gap over the next decade. 💭 I’d like to hear your thoughts. #ChipWar #SemiconductorIndustry #VLSI #TechGeopolitics #SemiconIndia #SiliconPower #ChipDesign #FutureOfTech

In my journey, I’ve seen how Physical Design engineers save a tape-out, how Analog layout experts quietly ensure performance, how DFT specialists catch what could cost millions post-silicon, and how Verification teams act as the last line of defense. Every discipline—Design, PD, Analog, Memory, Verification—carries the weight of the final chip. #Semiconductors #VLSI #Leadership #PhysicalDesign #Analog #MemoryDesign #TalentAcquisition #FutureOfWork

Processor Classifications: --------------------------- Ever feel overwhelmed by the alphabet soup of processors? 🤯 ARM, x86, RISC-V, Harvard, von Neumann, CISC, RISC, MCU, MPU... it's a lot! To make sense of it all, I recently mapped out the entire processor landscape. Here’s a visual guide that breaks down processors by: 🔹 Instruction Set (ISA): From the dominant x86 in your laptop to the power-efficient ARM in your phone and the open-source promise of RISC-V. 🔹 Memory Architecture: The classic von Neumann vs. the high-performance Harvard. 🔹 Execution Model: The sequential world of SISD vs. the parallel power of SIMD, MIMD, and GPUs. 🔹 Core Purpose: Microcontrollers (MCUs) vs. Microprocessors (MPUs) – knowing which to use is half the battle. But it doesn't stop at theory! The mindmap dives into the real-world ecosystems, connecting these classifications to the powerhouse families from: STMicroelectronics (STM32) Microchip (PIC, AVR) Texas Instruments (MSP430, Sitara) Infineon (XMC, AURIX) NXP (LPC, Kinetis, i.MX) Renesas (RA, RX) Silicon Labs (EFM32) ESP32 and Raspberry Pi RP2040 Whether you're an engineer choosing the right chip for your next project, a student trying to connect the dots, or just tech-curious, this map is for you. Check out the interactive mindmap here: https://lnkd.in/gc_uHGEt The goal? To have a single reference that connects fundamental concepts to the actual chips we use every day. What’s your go-to processor family for your projects, and why? Let’s discuss in the comments! 👇 #EmbeddedSystems #Microcontrollers #Microprocessors #Semiconductors #Hardware #Engineering #Technology #ARM #RISC_V #STMicroelectronics #Microchip #TexasInstruments #Electronics #IoT #Innovation
