Today’s acquisition of IndiCue marks a transformative day for Cineverse. For the last decade, our shared vision at Cineverse has been to establish a next-generation studio specifically built to compete in the modern streaming era, this isn't an easy task and doesn't happen overnight.  It happens piece by piece... Today's announcement brings us closer to fulfilling this vision. There is substantial value this acquisition brings us, it places us in a very unique position within the industry were we now control the underlying data pipes from end-to-end. This means that everything we do during the content mastering process, as it relates to metadata enrichment, can now make its way through the entire supply chain and flow all the way to the ad platform and subsequently to our back-end AI content analytics & reporting platform. Contextual advertising has been attempted by various companies over the years with limited success. A big part of their inability to bring an effective solution has been due to the highly fragmented nature of the media supply chain that precedes the monetization end-points. We believe we can solve this problem and are excited to bring cutting-edge innovation to the advertising ecosystem. If you want to truly be successful in the Live Event Industry, bet on yourself. Make sure you define YOUR idea of success. It’s different for each of us. And then…… Bet big. Push all of the chips to the middle of the table. 99% won’t get it done. Sure, you can be solid with 99%, but I’m talk about being really successful. Everyone has different measures of success. For me, it is about being a professional, and loving what I do every day. Thirty plus years in, I still love live events. And I always try to be the best professional I can be. ALERT TO CALIFORNIA PRODUCERS: Major Film & TV Tax Credit Expansion & Key Dates   California has significantly expanded its Film & TV Tax Credit Program to boost local production and jobs.   Application Windows (Under New CA 4.0 Program): - Television Series (New, Relocating, Pilot, Limited, Recurring): July 7 – 9, 2025 - Independent & Non-Independent Feature Films: August 25 – 27, 2025   AB 132 (Funding) - Approved & Signed: Assembly Bill 132 was signed by Governor Newsom on Friday, June 27th, and takes effect July 1, 2025. - Funding: Annual cap increased from $330 million to $750 million for five years. This makes CA one of the most generous states for capped film incentives.   AB 1138 (Program Changes) - Expected Passage: This companion bill, expected to pass and take effect before July 4th, introduces significant improvements. While not signed as of today, July 2nd, reports indicate it's imminent.   Key Program Changes (Effective July 1, 2025, with AB 1138 passage):   - Enhanced Credit Rates: Base credit jumps from 20% to 35%. An additional 5% uplift (total 40%) for filming outside Los Angeles County.   - Expanded Eligibility (California Spend $1M+):   * Animated series/films   * Multi-camera sitcoms (animated, scripted, large-scale competition shows <30 min)   * Large-scale competition shows   * TV shows with episodes <30 minutes  Exclusions still apply for reality, documentary, game/talk shows, and above-the-line labor.   Workforce & Equity:  - 2% Bonus for Trainees: Additional credit for hiring 1-4 trainees from targeted programs serving underserved communities (in addition to union crew).  - Expanded Reporting: Productions must report ZIP codes and veteran status, in addition to race, ethnicity, and gender, for workforce inclusion. California Tax Credit Refundability (Major Change July 1, 2025):  - All qualified applicants can elect refundability.  - Electing refundability means receiving 90% of the credit paid over five years, regardless of tax liability.  - Non-refundable option still requires CA income/sales tax liability or independent producer transfer option. This significant investment is expected to support 40-50% more jobs, translating to roughly 4,400 to 5,500 new industry jobs, reclaiming California's position as a leading production hub. if you are a Native organization / Group / Tribe that is hosting an event at a hotel or conference center please do your due diligence when selecting your AV vendor - Lets get Natives working with Natives - So BEFORE you sign your next hotel agreement, do the following. -Negotiate out the exclusivity clause. -Ask for 0% fees on you bringing in a 3rd party. Ive seen 26% fees to bring in outside partners. NO THANKS. -ask for capped fees on internet and power or ask them to be conceded entirely. -Confirm other exclusivities like breakout rooms. get rid of that if its there. -talk to your 3rd party about things like pre-rig lighting, any sort of proprietary rigging they use, etc that Encore cant or won't do. design accordingly... You wont get around using them for some things. but hopefully knowing HOW the relationship between "in house" AV and hotels work and how to protect yourself will save some money and emotional turmoil during your after action report. "

In corporate events, the biggest failures rarely come from talent or technology. They come from disconnection. Not just between the entertainment and the audience, but between everyone involved: delegates, coordinators, venues, AV teams, producers. Each group is competent. Each group is busy. Each group is often operating in their own lane. When something shifts - timing, energy, a technical hiccup - those lanes don’t always merge. People protect their role instead of aligning their understanding. The events that truly work are the ones where connection exists before anything goes wrong. Shared context. Shared intent. A sense that everyone is playing the same game. From my side of the room, that alignment matters more than any trick, routine, or moment of impact. Connection isn’t a “nice to have”.
