“I've worked with or around Kent for about a year and I've been consistently impressed with his passion and drive for quality software. He strives for excellence in all he does is able to build quality into everything he works on. He has taught me a lot about how to construct, architect, and design quality, maintainable, applications of all sizes. Kent is extremely talented and He genuinely cares for people and shows interest in their personal lives. If I ever get in a position where I'm looking for a great engineer Kent is one of the first people I would hire. I cannot recommend Kent C. Dodds highly enough.”

BYU Academic Scholarship
Brigham Young University
Awarded scholarship for excellent academic performance.
-
Owen Cherrington Scholarship
Marriott School of Management, BYU
Students who receive this scholarship are those who exemplify the characteristics of Professor Cherrington in making the Information Systems Jr. Core a better experience for their classmates.
Professor Cherrington, a long-time professor in the Information Systems Department, and the first director of the E-Business Center (now the Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology), was an example of scholarship, hard work, and selfless service. He died of cancer in 2005. -
2nd Place, Information Systems Integrated Exercise 1 (INTEX 1)
Information Systems Department, BYU
As a group of four, we were given a week to respond to a fabricated request for proposal. We designed the system and implementation. I personally wrote a functioning demo of the actual system which is how our presentation stood out from the 20 other teams.

ACT
Score: 27
The average ACT score for Brigham Young University (the school to which I intended to apply) was a 27. I therefore made it my goal to score at least that. After taking the ACT three times, I hadn't reached my goal (though improvement showed with each consecutive attempt). I took it a fourth time to reach my goal and did. I was accepted to Brigham Young University. I applied nowhere else.

There has never been a better time to hire junior engineers. Hot Take! There's so much doom and gloom for entry level folks coming from the highest…
