🇺🇸 🇯🇵 JERA closes $1.5-billion Haynesville shale acquisition in Louisiana JERA Co., Inc. through its subsidiary JERA Americas Inc., has completed its previously announced acquisition of upstream natural gas assets in the Haynesville shale of western Louisiana, expanding the company’s U.S. upstream and LNG-linked portfolio. The transaction gives JERA full ownership of the South Mansfield upstream asset, acquired from Williams and GeoSouthern Energy Corporation affiliates for an upfront investment of approximately $1.5 billion. The Haynesville acquisition strengthens the company’s position across Louisiana, where it maintains a growing portfolio spanning natural gas, LNG, renewables, ammonia and carbon capture initiatives. Producers Midstream Makes Relocating and Repurposing Assets a Strategic Move to Build New Infrastructure Flush with a $400 million expanded credit facility last December, Dallas-based Producers Midstream wasted little time completing Phase I of a new gathering, treating, and processing system this year in Lea County, N.M. This, while jumpstarting growth projects that relocate or repurpose its existing assets. Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest from Producers Midstream, which operates across the Eastern Permian Shelf, Texas Panhandle, and Western Okla., with 800,000 MCFD of gathering and processing capacity. Assets include 745,000 dedicated acres, 3,400+ miles of pipeline, treating for Nitrogen, H2S, and CO2, 150 miles of NGL lines, and 17 interconnects. The company has now announced a slew of agreements with leading producers in the core of the Delaware to advance a Phase II expansion of its Lea County system that will increase processing capacity from 60 MMSCFD to 90 MMSCFD and introduce a state-of-the-art acid gas injection well. Phase II is slated for operation by 4Q this year. Meanwhile, Producers late last month launched a binding Open Season ended July 14 to gauge shipper demand for the company’s proposed Palo Duro pipeline project that will repurpose its existing infrastructure to link gas to more outlets in the Anadarko, increase interstate pipeline connections, and create a more strategic trajectory to flow gas to downstream markets. Texas upstream oil and gas employment remained essentially flat in 2025, even as producers continued to deliver strong output amid challenging market conditions, according to data released by the Texas Workforce Commission. Through November 2025, upstream employment totaled 201,200 jobs. While employment declined by 3,500 jobs in November compared with October, year-to-date employment was little changed, with a net gain of 300 direct upstream jobs. Employment was also modestly higher than a year earlier, rising by 100 jobs, or 0.1 percent. “Reaching new production highs in multiple categories with employment essentially remaining steady is absolutely remarkable. Navigating these volatile circumstances is a vivid reminder: growth is not guaranteed,” said Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association. “This resilience demonstrated by increased energy output in 2025 depends on policies that support infrastructure development and market flexibility so the oil and natural gas industry can adapt to uncertainty and continue delivering the affordable, reliable energy that powers our modern way of life.” Read the full release: https://lnkd.in/ggA2ZeuF

Targa Resources Corp. Launches Non-Binding Open Season for Natural Gas Pipeline in the Delaware Basin Targa Resources Corp. announced a non-binding open season for the proposed Forza Pipeline Project, an interstate natural gas line moving gas from Lea County, New Mexico to multiple delivery points near the Waha Hub in Texas. The project includes 36 miles of 36-inch pipe and up to 750 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) of primary firm transportation capacity. Pending shipper interest and necessary regulatory approvals, completion is scheduled for mid-2028. The pipeline would connect new and existing gas processing facilities to in-basin demand and other demand markets.
