Really smart shift, Ben.
A lot of people chase innovation when what they actually need is durable systems.
It is a lesson SaaS founders can learn from too. The best businesses are not always the loudest or the flashiest. They are the ones with predictable cash flow, operational leverage, and processes that scale without constant founder intervention.
Boring is often just another word for defensible.
Option 2
This is such an underrated insight.
Whether it is SaaS or traditional acquisitions, the real unlock is not chasing hype. It is building assets that compound.
The strongest operators I know focus less on novelty and more on repeatability, systems, and long term resilience.
Quietly cash flowing tends to outperform loudly trending.
Option 3
Love this.
There is a lot of similarity between acquiring established businesses and scaling great software.
In both cases, the value is in the systems behind the scenes. Strong processes, reliable operators, and predictable outcomes.
The market tends to reward consistency a lot more than excitement over time.

Ryan, this is powerful.
What stands out to me is how every generation inherits more than stories. We inherit standards.
The resilience, discipline, and courage it took for that generation to face impossible odds is the same kind of mindset leaders still need today. Different battlefield. Same requirement for clarity under pressure.
Really meaningful reminder that legacy is not just remembered. It is carried forward through how we lead and serve today. Thanks for sharing this.

Love this analogy.
One of the clearest signals of GTM misalignment is when activity looks healthy but revenue stays flat. That usually means the work is optimized around motion, not outcomes.
The 80 20 point really lands. Great teams are not doing more. They are getting brutally clear on which actions actually create downstream revenue movement and eliminating everything else.
Busy is easy to measure. Reflection is harder. But that is where real growth usually starts.
