Employers: The Spring SkillBridge Provider Application window is officially OPEN. February 1 through April 1. If your organization has been considering becoming a DoD SkillBridge provider, this is your opportunity to apply or renew. Becoming a SkillBridge provider is not a simple job post. It requires: • A formal DoD application • A structured training plan • Completion of the Employer Ethics Brief • A signed MOU • DoD review and approval Companies that prepare early are positioned to host transitioning service members ahead of the summer transition cycle. We are already seeing increased employer activity as organizations build structured military talent pipelines for 2026. If you’re #interviewing in #GovCon and things feel slow, inconsistent, or “almost unreal”… you’re not crazy. GovCon hiring isn’t always driven by normal business cycles. It’s driven by award timing, funding timing, and contract timing — and those are not always visible to #candidates. Why interviews happen but hiring stalls: The work is tied to an award that isn’t final yet The contract is real, but the start date is moving The team is building a bench for a ramp, but headcount isn’t released yet The role is being reshaped (scope changes, compliance needs, AI/automation shifts) How to protect your time (and win faster). Here are 5 common-sense moves that separate high-conversion candidates: 1) Ask the right question early: “Is this role tied to an awarded contract, an option year/mod, or a proposal?” No drama — just clarity. 2) If it’s proposal-based, ask: “What’s the expected award window and ramp date?” 3) Lead with the GovCon value signal: Execution under constraints. Examples: documentation, stakeholder management, delivery in regulated environments, security/compliance awareness. 4) Be location/clearance clear. If you’re cleared, state it up front. If you’re not, show the closest equivalents: regulated work, HIPAA, SOC2, public sector, audit environments. 5) Build a “proof packet.” 3 outcomes you drove, 3 tools you used, 1 short story of how you stabilized a messy situation. #GovWork If you’re job searching in GovCon right now, what’s your lane: Program/PMO, Cyber/GRC, IT/Data, Ops, Finance, HR/Talent? It’s a good reminder: even when funding is uncertain, contracts don’t stop, and staying ahead of policy changes matters more than ever. Our virtual GRC-5 program is open to students of all backgrounds, including transitioning military veterans, working professionals, career changers, and military spouses. Throughout our structured curriculum, students will use live systems and enterprise-level tools to gain hands-on cybersecurity experience along with industry-aligned certifications that has become a requirement for careers within IT and Cybersecurity. Through our program, students will cover the importance of core topics such as Ethical AI use, Federal Cybersecurity Frameworks, Red/Blue Team Operations within System Defense, Incident Response, DevSecOps, Post Quantum Cryptography and Professional Development. The F3USA Spring 2026 Cybersecurity Cohort has achieved a major milestone with a 100% pass rate on the CompTIA Security+ certification. DoD CIO's work on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Revamp continues! We are partnering closely with the Chief Information Officers (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officers (CISO), as well as the communication leaders at the Services and combatant commands. Additionally, we are also working with DoD leaders responsible for Acquisition and Sustainment as well as Research and Engineering on key aspects of this initiative. In the coming weeks, we will issue an RFI to industry to solicit your ideas for how DoD Cybersecurity Risk Management process can be automated, and how continuous monitoring capabilities could be integrated end-to-end starting in the design and build phases. We then plan to engage with industry, organizations and other partners to get a feel for the state of the possible. Five high level tenets are serving as the foundation for actions, decisions, and behaviors as we revamp RMF: Automation, Continuous Monitoring, Inheritance, Cybersecurity and Resiliency Requirements, and Operationalizing Risk Management.  - Automation to streamline processes, reduce human error, and improve efficiency enabling a host of capabilities. - Continuous Monitoring to provide real-time visibility into threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps. - Inheritance of security controls, policies, or risks from one entity to another in order to reduce compliance burdens and maintain operational consistency. - Cybersecurity and Resiliency Requirements to safeguard organizations against cyber threats, disruptions, and data breaches. - Operationalizing Risk Management to strengthen defense against evolving and emerging threats.
