Sadly, in a serious way many people don't like to talk about abuses to children and thus perpetuate harmful cycles. In small and big ways companies can do the same exact thing. Workplace parallel: Highlight only the wins in town halls Underreport burnout, turnover, or internal strain Over-index on “hero narratives” Risk: You optimize for optics instead of reality. Leadership takeaway: If only success is visible, failure is still growing—just unseen. Let's be transparent and hold ourselves and others accountable to doing the right things in our communities and at our workplaces. Brushing problems under the rug almost certainly lead to problems festering and repeating. Because behind that one sentence lies the truth we often don’t want to face. And that is: The world still plays by different rules for boys and girls. As someone who has spent over 15years training people under the POSH Act, Gender Sensitivity and POCSO Act, I’ve seen how deeply these unspoken “rules” are embedded in classrooms, boardrooms, and even in conversations at home: “Boys don’t cry.” “Girls must behave.” “It’s just a joke.” “You should have stayed quiet.” These statements don’t just define gender norms - they silently justify inequality and harassment. The POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace) is not just a law — it’s a promise. A promise that no woman shall be subjected to any form of Sexual harassment and they should feel safe, dignified, heard. There must not be any harassment simply because of their gender. Respect, dignity & Inclusivity must be the part of the workplace culture. But compliance alone is not enough. True Gender Equality begins when we unlearn centuries of conditioning. When we replace “boys will be boys” with “everyone deserves respect.” So I want to ask you: * How many invisible rules still hold you back? * How many unconscious biases do you have? * What would change if we say - “There are equal rules for every human”? * And when will we stop raising girls to survive, and start raising boys to empathize? Every training I conduct, every session on POSH Awareness, Workplace Sensitisation, or Gender Equality-it reminds me that change begins with one brave conversation. Today, let’s start that conversation again. Because equality isn’t a women’s issue. It’s a human issue. Let’s build workplaces and classrooms where respect isn’t requested — it’s reflected.
