    - Instead of assessing the risk of their insured drivers through the study of demographic data, auto insurance underwriters can use this method to (1) understand the risk of their drivers through more direct measurements of actual driving behaviour and (2) assess changes in the individual driver's behaviour against their "peers" in the groups.
    - Supervised a graduate student and a software engineer at University of Waterloo for this project.

  • Multiple Diseases Detection using Blood Tests

    -

    - Client: GeneNews Corporation
    - Developed methods that accurately detect multiple diseases and cancers at early stages using blood test samples data.
    - Applicable to simple blood tests; more convenient and less expensive than such traditional screening methods as biopsy, cytopathology and MRI.
    - Tackled the curse of dimensionality (~55,000 features). Improved classification accuracy and speed. Analyzed the issue of overfitting.
