The Sweeney Foundation is a development initiative which drives Camp Sweeney, a summer camp and outreach program that is exclusively for children with Type-1 diabetes. Sweeney is a life-changing experience for campers, without which many kids simply cannot cope with the complexities of type-1 diabetes. Sweeney also holds year-round events throughout Texas and surrounding states as a support network to help combat the disease, providing a vital community structure for young diabetics. All of these initiatives are housed under the 501(c)(3) of the Southwest Diabetic Foundation, which was established at Camp Sweeney’s founding in 1947.

The JDRF YLC is a group of young professionals dedicated to JDRF’s mission to cure, treat and prevent type-1 diabetes ("T1D"). The group is comprised of 7 board members and more than 30 regular members who aid in hosting various fundraising, networking, and social events throughout the year to attract professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 to JDRF. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without the disease.
